If I were Turkey, I would take them and compensate Ukraine with more Bayraktars atm.. They can reconsider after the war.
That would not be a stupid move for the turkish navy but if ukraina have already payed for the 4 ships then they have atleast payed 1 billion usd. Thats equivelant to aproximentaly 200 tb2 drones.

What will happen with the ada class corvettes that was planned for ukraina?

They have only signed the contract for the first ship, not sure about the financial plan but it may be credited by Turkey.

Payments are done in parts as milestones are achieved, so we can expect at least one third of the announced contract amount was delivered to Turkey (or other subcontractors for machinery and equipment)

So there is not a $1Billion already transferred to Turkey for the 4 hulls, its merely $50 Million, for 1 hull.

What will happen to the ship if Ukraine does not will to continue? Another customer will be searched, less likely to be an OPV or an auxiliary hull with the CODAG, it will be +1 for the Ada-Class flotilla of TN if no customer appears, in worst case. For simplicity they seem follow the first path as of now. (to not replace certain equipment with Turkish equivalent)

Since there will be tons of news recently about the TTHB - TN-FAC and leading to an information pollution leaving the latest updates on the project;

I have been telling about how MPAC was actually an interim product of TN-FAC's design process, since it is first revealed in IDEF'21 August, in other words we may call it as an early form of the TN-FAC based on the earlier requirements and converted into a product of the STM. Of which, requirements were defined again by the TN as 2nd Phase of the concept design, as known as Contract-Functional Design, had begun.

I also have listed the differences in the requirements earlier, just recapping;
  • relaxation of the maximum speed,
  • a more efficient drive on the economical speed,
  • better sea-keeping features,
  • additional space for crew (a whole new deck),
  • additional space for future upgrades (weapons-sensors-countermeasures),
  • additional space for EW equipment,
  • additional equipment on the mast, thus resulting in an integrated mast,
  • changing power pack from COGAG to CODAG*.
Thus, TN-FAC project will conclude in 3 different designs, MPAC as a platform satisfying the earlier requirements set in the beginning of the 2nd Phase, TTHB-1 as a platform satisfying current requirements and thus including refinements on MPAC, TTHB-2 as a platform satisfying current requirements with alternative subsystems.

Both MPAC and TTHB-2 eyes the export market, TTHB-1 aims the TN inventory.

(GT = Gas Turbine, DE= Diesel Engine, WJ= Water jet)

Reviewed options for the main propulsion, so far covers;
*COGAG-1= As 4 GT, 2 GT drives the medium WJ (booster) and 2-each GT driving the side WJ(steerable).
*COGAG-2= Or as 3 GT, each running single WJ.
*CODAG-1= 2 GT drives the medium WJ via combined gear and 2-each of the DE driving the side WJ.
*CODAG-2= 2 GT + 2 DE connected to a main gearbox which can couple-decouple any WJ, thus any single engine may power the entire ship.

Further notes on the design; MPAC or TTHB-2 has larger engine room, optionally can be configured with 2 DE + 2 DE with sacrifice of the maximum speed (35+ Knots) or 2 larger DE and without booster WJ resulting in a reasonable speed (25-30 Knots).

There is always option of the growth, any of these platforms can be scaled up to 800-900 tons, the platform currently is semi-planning hull form and up to a certain tonnage it remains as such.

Navy considers 2 options. Either FAC-55 style very fast boats or a combination of FAC-55 style very fast and another slower boat combo (this can be achieved in the same body) similar to a hi-low combo of the air forces. Independent of which way is chosen the end product won't look like or resemble MPAC or FAC-55. MPAC has a big RCS and this is a big deal-breaker for the NAVY.,

BTW the end product for the very fast boat might be even faster than FAC-55.

My source is an editor of a Turkish defense magazine.

Here is the related news

Read the link you have posted, note the latter part;
"FAC-55 design is not the TTHB project's design".
You have been wrong on this matter, accept it and move on. Stop making things up.

MPAC resembles the TTHB, in fact shares the same backbone of design features. TTHB will not be faster than the FAC-55. Navy has opted for a bigger, more capable but slower hull form, considering a second option for the high-speed role a design not based on the TTHB.

All along you have been claiming FAC-55 was the TTHB.

She will also have Nazar DIRCM, at least 3.
All but the fore RCWS spots can support 35mm multi purpose gun but for now it is STOP.

Yes there is TACM, Hizir TKAS.

Sapan CIWS missile will be ready for TTHB, so it is not that far.
what is sapan?

AKYA heavy torpedo fired from the TCG Preveze(Type 209/1400) submarine by using the national combat management system MUREN. Another big milestone passed in the mid-life modernization of Preveze class submarines.

MILDAS will be integrated to TCG Istanbul this year and be subjected sea trials in 2023.
MILDAS equipped TCG Istanbul will have Hisar RF missile.
The aim is to finally give the MILDAS quad packable capability. Also all indigenous missiles that can be used in MILDAS will bu used in MILDAS.
