That is exactly what I was thinking of commenting about.
Oto Melara has two versions of this auto cannon:
“Compact” is with 85 rounds per minute.
“Super Rapid” is with 120 rounds per minute.
It has special guided rounds for munitions like Vulcano and Dart.
Like our Denizhan these cannons are water cooled and use Sea water to do that. As we were producing certain parts of these Italian cannons, we were privy to a lot of in-house know-how. I also remember reading somewhere that the special manufacturing processes we use in the barrel, makes it last a lot longer than the Italian one.

Although our navy has been buying the Super Rapid version for the Ada Class ships and the TCG Istanbul, even though Italians lowered the price to unbelievable levels, we have decided to go ahead with our own. There must be something important strategically that made our decision makers swing from Super Rapid to an indigenous slower cannon.

Our Aselsan’s fire control radar for these cannons are supposed to be exemplary in their precision targeting. This may be part of the reason. See TAKS below

I believe that's also because we are using the slower rate of fire as standard on a 70s gun we built with 2020s tech.

I think that's mainly political as we had procurement issues for Istanbul and once the development for KE gun started, arrow had already left the bow as they say.

We already use the OTO gun on Istanbul though with no planned replacements so far.

I wonder if we will see new ATOM family at IDEF 2025.

From 2021:

Defense Turkey: As MKE, you previously had the capability to produce airburst munitions from earlier projects. Could you provide information about the types of munitions you are currently working on?

Yasin AKDERE: As you know, we are producing the ATOM munition in collaboration with our esteemed and distinguished company ASELSAN. In this context, we are also developing airburst and smart munitions for the 76/62mm caliber. We have reached the final stage of our work on GPS and laser guidance. Our primary goal is to integrate these into the inventory. Our next step is to quickly develop the 127mm Naval Gun domestically and nationally.

How many?
As many as we could fit within $1B budget. Last time it was 7 x $150M . Maybe we are backing up to 6 x $200M. The first ship is more of a prototype, if it demonstrates all the requirements, the rest of the batch will follow.
