The market for new main-class combat ships in 2020-2027
In the upcoming 4-year period (2024-2027), the sales volume of new main-class combat
surface ships (MCCS) will amount to 74 units for a total of $36.256 billion, subject to delivery schedules under current contracts, declared intentions, and tenders.
Over the past 4-year period (2020-2023), at least 64 new MCSs were exported or produced under license in the world for a total of $23.284 billion.
In general, for the period 2020-2023, 78 BNK OK were exported for the amount of
$23.602 billion. At the same time, the sales volume of new BNK OK amounted to 82.05% of the total quantity or 98.65% of the value of global supplies.
In percentage terms, the growth in supplies of new BNK OK in 2024-2027 compared to 2020-2023 will amount to 15.63% in quantitative terms and by
55.71% in value terms.
In 2020-2023, the average demand for new BNK OK in the international market
was almost 16 units per year. In 2024-2027, annual demand will increase to almost
19 units.
The BNK OK category in the analysis includes vessels of the "corvette" class and above. According to the CAWAT methodology, the “new” category includes deliveries of new BNK OK
costing at least $50 million, licensed programs, as well as deliveries of BNK OK from the armed forces of exporting countries, modernized to the level of practically new ships with an extended service life, the price of which at the time of delivery is more than 50% of the cost of a new ship of the same type
for the same period of time.
France ranks first in the ranking of suppliers of new main-class combat surface ships (24 units worth $8.157 billion). In 2020-2023, 8 BNC OKs worth $1.586 billion were exported,
the order portfolio for the period 2024-2027 is 16 units worth $6.571 billion. Italy ranks second (21 ships worth $10.594 billion). In 2020-2023, 11 ships worth $6.8 billion were exported.
In 2024-2027, the expected volume of deliveries is 10 BNC OKs worth $3.794 billion. Germany ranks third (15 ships worth $4.998 billion). In
2020-2023, 9 ships worth 2.375 billion
dollars were exported. In 2024-2027, the sales volume may amount to 6 units worth
2.623 billion
dollars.
The Netherlands is in fourth place (12 ships worth 3.830 billion
dollars). In 2020-2023, 5 ships worth 1.560
billion
dollars were exported. In 2024-2027, the expected volume of deliveries is still 7 BNK OK
worth 2.270 billion
Turkey is in fifth place (10 ships worth 2.250 billion
dollars). In

dollars were exported. In 2024-2027, expected volume of deliveries is 7 BNK OK for
$1.725 billion
Sixth place with licensed production of LCS trimarans in the USA
is occupied by Australia (9 ships for $3.007 billion). In 2020-2023, 7 ships were delivered for
export (produced under license) for $2.423 billion. In 2024-2027, 2 ships will be built in the USA by Austal for
$584.0 million.
Seventh place for the period 2020-2027 in terms of quantity
is occupied by China (8 ships worth $2.230 billion). In 2020-2023, 7 ships worth $2.1 billion were delivered for
export. In 2024-2027, the sales volume so far is 1 unit worth $130.0 million.
Eighth place is occupied by the Republic of Korea (8 ships worth $1.187 billion). In 2020-2023, 5 ships worth $551.0 million were delivered (produced under license) for export. In 2024-2027, expected volume of deliveries
currently amounts to 3 BNK OK for the amount of 636.0 million dollars.
Spain ranks ninth (7 ships for the amount of 5.033 billion dollars). In
2020-2023, 6 BNK OK were exported for the amount of 4.613 billion dollars.
In 2024-2027, sales will amount to 1 unit for the amount of 420.0 million dollars.
Russia ranks tenth (7 ships for the amount of 3.250 billion dollars). In
2020-2023, 3 ships for the amount of 750.0 million dollars were exported.
In 2024-2027, sales will amount to 4 units. for a total of about 2.5 billion dollars.
The following places from 11th to 14th in descending order of export volumes by
quantitative parameter are occupied by the USA, UAE, Great Britain and Indonesia.
In the category "tender", the results of which have not yet been summed up, in 2024-2027 it is planned to supply 5 BNK OK for a total of about 1.895 billion dollars.
