Nobody will give you their new found great technology, you have to develope the Thorium technology yourself and we actually had the Figes Company working on it in the past several years.

For Turkiye, Thorium molten salt reactors is a more realistic target than fusion reactors. Fusion research is insanely expensive and to this day no fusion power plant produces more electricity than it consumes. There are a few reactors that managed to slight net positive energy if we exclude power needed for pumps, valves, supermagnets etc and lets not talk about 7/24 operation, robustness, and reliability. Turkiye can develop a thorium reactor with a budget of several billion dollars but no one knows how much we will spend for a fusion reactor and whether it can be developed in an acceptable timeline.

A "fusion reactor" is not even a real thing yet mate, the French one has cost something like 30 billion and yet still a decade or two away from actually starting to produce anything. Every news about fusion is about incremental improvements that are overblown when reported because they omit a lot of stuff to make it look better. Fusion still is, as it always has been, 30 years away.

Both Thorium and Fusion is just hype atp. SMR is dead (costs and regulations are too much for the energy it supplies to the grid). Only way forward is PWR. Russia is the leading country at the moment with having both VVER's and BN's operating. They are now building BN-1200, a 1200MWe Breeder reactor that can re-use waste fuel from their VVERs. (They already have BN-600 and BN-800, originally research reactors but also supply electricity to the grid).

This Chinese reactor hype is mostly media generated and do not represent the real achievement. Sadly Thorium is not a revolution, there is a reason why it isn't widely used.

Going with the russians for Akkuyu was such a mistake, then again this government has had an russian fetish for a decade (see dumb purchase of S-400 and trying to influence the air force to buy into the su-57).

Don't know how the Koreans are but I think they will go witht the Americans in the end.

This company is not only the greatest gift for Turkiye, but the entire Islamic world. Making sure we catch up in modern warfare, space and nuclear technology.

I hope necessary steps will be done and an American company can be acquired. NuScale Power seems a valuation between around 5-6B $.

It will be definitely hard to acquire such a company but since there are a lot of companies like this, Baykar can have possibility to acquire one of them. NuScale has already some contracts. It means that it can be a good investment in addition to know-how transfer.

I listened to Carney as he was talking about improving relations with other countries and he said very positive things about Türkiye and mentioned specifically cooperation in nuclear energy. With Trump in power, Canada is desperately seeking to diversify their trade and defence cooperations, so I don't think they did it just for the sake of it. We should exploit this opportunity.
