A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jet crashed near Pindigheb, Attock on Tuesday during a routine training mission. The pilot ejected safely when the aircraft crashed.
The PAF said in a statement that the jet went down a routine training sortie and there was no loss of life during the incident.
"The pilot ejected safely. No loss of life or property has been reported on ground," Dawn.com quoted the PAF as saying.
The Air Force has set up a board of inquiry to probe the reason behind the crash. There was no word on which aircraft had crashed in today’s incident.
If the type is correct, the JF-17 was most probably operating out of Minhas air base (Pakistan) as part of the 33 (Tactical) Wing that is equipped with two squadrons Thunders, 14(AS)sq “Tail Choppers” and 16(MR)sq “Black Panthers”.
