Depends on if Pakistan is willing to let direct strikes into Pakistani territory be answered with these aircraft shootdowns or if they launch counterstrikes into Indian territory, to which India would need to respond in kind.Because clearly in current conflict India is the loser, Do you guys think to save face India will escalate this even further by launching another attack or will they deescalate the situation and take the BIG FAT L this time by doing nothing ?
I think it is logical to de-escalate the situation. It is crystal clear that Pakistan is well prepared for this. IMHO, India tried to get the upper hand before Pakistan receives J-35s in 2026, hoping RAFALEs and SU-30MKIs will have the upper hand and force Pakistan into some kind of a deal. This is not the case, and I think this might turn into a situation where you bet more money to win back the money you lose and lose even more. If things get out of hand, without air superiority, drones will reign supreme, and Pakistan might launch military ops inside Indian controlled Kashmir with the help of its combat drone fleet.
On the right image is RAFALE written too. I don't understand what that tweet tries to tell us.
They didnt enter. They just did some stand-off lobbing with no proper SEAD/DEAD beforehand is my guess. So the HQ-9 probably shot down stuff as IAD was lit up to receive them....along with whichever CAP with the new PL-15.
The timing was way too early. A month should have been given at least (along with feints/tricks to desensitize Pakistan response pattern) to get pakistan to expend economically/psychologically first a lot more....and then SEAD/DEAD has to be done the proper way on SAMs at the very least.
The AWACS (as to properly controlling strike vectors to respond/optimize to whichever CAP snapshot in the air) also was terrible as there was some decision to hit these targets no matter what etc (rather than keep that somewhat more fluid).
IAF is just garbage at this conflict tier....too much hubris and blockheadedness w.r.t what they have.
It is fundamentally "at best" designed for an all out war to support major land thrusts and taking/inflicting the real attrition past the apex one-off stuff its being forced to do in this window of time.
A lesson is in order on what "flag flying in the wind direction" means.
Just trying to employ some common sense. If everyone did that, we'd be golden. Can't have nice shit though.@Sanchez as well, good job. Balanced objective analysis. Thank you. It is lacking in so many other "fora".
Similar populations, they had to give a response soon. If Pakistanis don't retaliate, they'll bury the losses under fakenews and be done with it. Ground strikes were mostly successful after all.The timing was way too early. Meanwhile, in the real world
Drones don't have M88 engines or ejection seats.technically drones are also aircraft and we shot those down

Grasping at straws to come out on top of internet arguments.

Heck, ill just post my take I gave (in a DM) here openly:
It won't de-escalate. Shooting down of IAF planes last night was a defensive measure. It wasn't the retaliation. The retaliation is YET to come.I think it is logical to de-escalate the situation. It is crystal clear that Pakistan is well prepared for this.
