Look at the polls, raised their votes from 6-7% to 12-13%. But keep telling that to yourself.
Doubled their voter share in honestly just 2 years. If they continue this trend IYI Party will easily see the 20% mark at the latest around this time next year. And I don't see any reason for them not to reach it. Come Election time, we might see CHP+IYI Party take majority of Parliament without any third party(DP,SP,GP) help needed. If both of them continue their trends.

Presidential election is another story of course but even there things look good for the opposition, Yavas, Imamoglu and Aksener are all doing well in the polls, the formers better than the letter but not really a huge difference. Yavas will be the safest pick though.

And lets be honest the AKP is nothing without Erdogan. If Erdogan loses(still don't know how he wants to enter the race as he constitution disallows this, maybe he might not even run?) and there is good chance he will the AKP is more likely to collapse under chaos than anything else.

Would it be right to say that out of Yavas, Imamoglu and Aksener, AKP voters would choose Aksener?

It doesn't exactly happens like that.

Last year undecided voters (Kararsızlar) was at %30s, now they are %20s. Meaning first AKP+MHP voters first stop supporting their parties than look at other parties and start supporting an other party.

When they realize things are not going good and not going to better in the future they change their vote. At that point they are not gonna vote for Erdogan but going to vote opposition candidate.

Mansur Yavaş, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Meral Akşener and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu are all beating Erdogan.

Mansur and Ekrem wins with a land slide over %15 percent difference.
Below them Meral Akşener
And below her Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

My heart's choice is Ali Babacan, he would be the perfect name to rule Turkey, but i don't think other bigger parties would select him.
My second heart's choice would be Mansur Yavaş, he is decent and honest, also focused on his work.

But it seems to me like opposition's candidate will be Ekrem İmamoğlu. His campaigning performance was excellent. He came back from %10 percent in the polls and won the election, won the second election with landslide. No other leader comes close to him when it's campaigning performance.

Thanks for explaining.

Don't know much about CHP/CHP candidates but Aksener's (and iyi party's) ideology is fairly similar to that of AKPs but I guess more agreeable + she seems like a person that everyone respects (i.e. she's an effective leader). Tbh anything is better as long they respect democracy and pay attention repairing the economy. (Not like changing the head of the CB 4 times in 5 years) .

Yeah, non of the opposition parties would repeat AKP's mistakes . Meral Akşener is good (not living to my expectations though)

For me the problems with İYİ party; (these are my opinion, i'm not saying this is the absolute truth like other posters. Just my observations and opinion)

As you might know when opposition of MHP left MHP and founded iyi party, there were 4 leaders;

- Koray Aydın: This guy is no better than corrupt ministers and majors of AKP. He put on trial for corruption in the past and i have personal knowledge about what he did in the past.

- Sinan Ogan: To me this guy is borderline racist

- Ümit Özdağ; This guy is the ultimate conspiracy theorist. Before iyi party he would join tv discussions and say some shocking stuff. Like what are the plans of Russia, what are the plans of USA. He never backed his words with facts.

- Meral Akşener is the best of them: She is really putting effort and concerned of Turkey. The negative thing about her (many positive stuff too);
For example when government placed alcohol ban on Turkey. She said "Government is trying to divert attention from economics of closure" She was right, but i would expect of her, to say something about "constitutional rights of the citizens and how government is breaking the law". Same thing happened with the Ex-Admirals' declaration. I would like to see her approach problems from the perspective of freedom, laws and constitution.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is also another theory; as all opposition parties want to go back to parliamentary system. There will be a president and prime minister. So Kılıçdaroğlu and Akşener can share these positions.

Do you think that Kılıçdaroğlu will be able to hold his position as leader of the CHP? If some sort of coalition government is formed with iYi party and CHP, I would assume İmamoğlu would be the more popular choice for for a president/prime minister position?

Maybe they will just repeat what they did in the previous election - that is to make Yavaş the joint candidate of an alliance.
I guess this all depends on the rate of growth of the iYi party and rate of decline of the AKP and MHP. There's a chance that no coalition government/alliance is needed, instead one party has a controlling majority.

Bro, there are lots of possibilities and names. We will see how opposition parties will decide. They are kind of relaxed in this issue. Since polls show, almost every one of the possibilities beats Erdogan with ease.

Anyways since years i'm also relaxed on this issue. I'm not trying to convince anyone on; why they shouldn't vote for Erdogan. :)
Erdogan supporters can go and vote for him, he is going to lose anyway.

Its really a farce for the locals. My aunt has to get a permit to visit her mother (Turkish passport) and my uncle (German passport) doesn't. Foreigners are allowed to go to the beach while a Turkish man swimming next to them was fined for it.

But you know, money makes the rules.

Akp is no different to the republican party. Conservatives will always talk about conserving and serving the people once you put money into the equation they change their tune quickly whatever values they have throw it out the door for the money.

So Lativa follows the US and recognises the so called "genocide"

Meanwhile Erdogan and AKP sit back and fiddle their thumbs and do nothing. Not even one measure has been taken to protect Turkish Pride and Honour and to return the favour by at least recognising Genocides that Americans done to Natives and Blacks throughout history.

Say what you want about America and Biden but by the Presidency recognising the so-called Armenian "Genocide" it will only cause more countries to recognise it and make it into a internationally recognised event of suffering and painting Turks as 2nd worst people in the World after the Nazis.

Numerous Academy Award calibre films will be made in America about so-called "Genocide" and the events will be used by Western Nations, Business and Organisations to justify negative treatment of Turkey and The Turks.

Erdogan is disappointing me big time. He can't just sit back and do nothing whilst Turkey is being openly slandered for generations to come by the Western International community. If no measures are taken by the end of the year then he should be removed from office and true Nationalist put in place instead.

Erdogan sent his condolences to the armenians what did the armenians do they burnt our flags and replied back with a model of lynching an Azerbaijani man.

His nothing more than bending the knee and keeping quiet this pisses me off so bad.

I hope we dont do anything for the Baltic countries also hope Russia swallows them. Not my problem I wont sacrifice one bullet for them anyway.

Latvia must be ruled by idiots. You go and recognize something for Armenia meanwhile Armenia when the day comes and Russia annex your little pathetic country will vote against condeming Russia's annextion. Oh and believe that annextion will happen, right after Russia annexes Belarus. And no one will stand up against Russia.

There are only two countries inside NATO capable and willing to stand up to Russia, those are Turkey and Britain. Both countries gave Ukraine the most support over the last months while it looked liked Russia will invade Ukraine further.

In the end you will be begging for Turkish soldiers, jets and tanks to defend your border but we won't come, hell why should we? Ask Armenia for help or better their diaspora.

Turkey should pull its F-16 from the Baltic Air Policing Mission over this. Latvia doesn't deserve the protection of Turkey. Anything that even has the name of Latvia or the Baltics in it should be vetoed.

Go join a Defence Alliance with France,US and Armenia. That should work well, one is more distracted with a lost battle in the pacific and ignores Russia, the other is being led by a russiaphobe and is very well known to leave NATO when things get hot and Armenia is a Russian Puppet State.

Have Fun Latvia. I'm sure those 10 M1A2 and 500 US soldiers will safe you against the bear. :)

I am amazed how detached from reality most posters in here are.Absolutely NO ONE in Europe looks to Turkey as their protector from Russia. Nor will Russia invade and annex the 3 Baltic countries.

You heard it here first.
