I dont think so really.

Turkmenistan is a totaltarian regime with a cult of personality run by a single family.

Even if Tayyip is authoratarian or has his guys in the top.

Turkiye is not heading that direction no matter what. Are you forced to worship Erdogan? Has erdogan brought out a book which everybody must be forced to read. Has Tayyip cut all medical services and libaries in every city? Thats what Turkmenistan has done they cut all medical services and made it one city. Turkmenistan also banned certain colours of cars

Turkmenistan is much worse. Its pretty insulting to be even be comparing your curren situation with them. If any Turkmen moved to Turkiye it will be a heaven for them no matter what.

Turkmenistan has already restricted Turkmens from going to Turkiye as most who go never come back to Turkmenistan.

If we all lived there we wont survive 1 second.
You would not believe 10 years ago if anyone said that Türkiye would be like this!! I remember my Iranian friend at the university told me that Türkiye is in the direction of being another Iran like country in 2010. At that time, i was also laughing him, now i see where we are going.

As much as I dislike the current government and we must get back to democracy as soon as possible, but comparing us to batshit crazy Turkmenistan dictatorship is far off.

Not trying to downplay Erdogan, never would, but have you ever seen Turkmenistan's president's DJ performances or singing performances? That guy is Kim Jong Un Light.

sorry to drop my 2 cents here since I am not turk . But had to say it

whether you like it or not , Turkey is a democratic country and it’s people almost the same liberty as the west does .

I personally would say that turkey is a ( democratic dictatorship ) . I mean that people can literally vote to anyone and I personally disagree with the notion that elections in turkey is crooked .

But the issue here that once a party is elected they can literally F the country without any accountably

If either CPH , Zafer , HDP etc .. wins , they will have the same authority as the AKP did . They might F the country but at the end of the road the same people who elected them will remove them

Anyway don’t say here Turkmenistan , that country is a meme dictatorship fucked country

Thats the thing with Turks, they disagree on everything until a real enemy appears.
Then you see a sudden unity, all fighting for a common cause.
''Strange people these Turks(Romans)'',Obelix(Astérix le Gaulois).
Unfortunately that’s not correct. There were several rebellions during our independence war. Kuvayi Inzibatiye, Ahmet Anzavur, Capanoglu, Cerkes Ethem, Seyh Esref, Kocgiri … We are the country in this world with the highest ratio of traitors and that makes me furious.

That's why the opposition promising to replace the terrible presidential system that Erdoğan brought with parliamentarian as it used to be.

Turkish democracy has got free and fair elections which differ Türkiye from other asian countries.
Let's see if we could save it.

Oppressions on opposition and "others" getting us close to Türkmenistan. And it's a current problem of Türkiye.

I am tired of forum members here attacking each other over perceived "treachery" to their mother country.

You speak of foreign forces attempting to weaken Turkey from within yet you appear to contribute quite heartily yourselves to that cause with such rhetoric.

It's making this sub-forum a somewhat unpleasant experience to behold so I'd like to ask participants to consider their words before putting them to keyboard.
All Citizens of developed countries are united? For instance Germans? The French? The Americans? The Jews?

They don't vote unanimously . You can see unanimous votes just in Syria or in Russia etc.

İn which countries the government is considered as "holly" and" untouchable "..

Democracy is not the key point or the solution. We had parliamentary system before AKP what did we achieve from all those coalition governments. Nothing. Presidential system could’ve functioned very well but AKP made big mistakes so we will just be back to square one. Look at how China grew in the last 30 years. Are they so democratic? The problem is with our bureaucrats and national representatives. These people are mostly involved in political discussions. They don’t really try to improve the country. Whatever little they do good is to win the vote of the people. Otherwise they don’t care. If I was elected for five years the first thing I would say to 80 million on the TV would be: Look I will do whatever is good for the country, I don’t care about your votes in five years.

Yes now Greeks are arming neutral islands, we are trying to find ways to make peace with Assad, we are leaving western block because they hate us. Welcome to Turkish unprecented presidential system.

I don't want to be united for sake of national security during all my life.

The current management has harmed Türkish national security more than Greek Navy and Greek Air Force.

We had been able to deal with enemies using enforcing diplomacy until we found the populist government.

Let's get back to the real issue here:

Kılıçdaroğlu is hellbent on being the candidate of the opposition.

WHY

Kılıçdaroğlu is hellbent on being the candidate of the opposition.

WHY
Because he is the head of CHP:)
You could join in CHP and replaced him if you weren't satisfied.
CHP is a political party that waiting for contribution of citizens.

Yeah right!!
We have institutes filled with akp members, we have CEO in state banks with out even a high school degree!!
Even İstanbul elections repeated for no reason!! Allah knows what will happen to elections in 2023. Additionally, we see how corrupt institutes like RTÜK etc. when we see their decisions. And for the people laughing dj performance of Türkmenistan etc. You better watch played performances of Erdoğan in central park, or answering to questions of paid students in TVs!
Additionally, i did not say we are like Türkmenistan, i have said we are on the way to become!! You will see reality in not far future. So better be ready to laugh at yourself for the being so much good hearted.

Coalition governments are good for democracy. The presidential system opens the door for monarchy and dictatorship.
