Radial compressor design of TS1400 may not be ideal for a turboprop as PT6 and some others are of axial compressor type. However material science aspects of that power level should apply to an axial compressor turboprop design as well. TEI should make a 1500 hp class turboprop and also should make a 3500 hp turboshaft and a similar power turboprop as well. I mean why not?Do TEI plan to develop a turboprop version of the TS-1400 in the future ? This would greatly enhance the performance of UAV’s, and limit the dependence of foreign engines.
