First ignition of the TF6000 being in the first quarter of 2023 can mean that a usable UCAV engine can be obtained in just a year from today as I don't think they will take too much time optimizing it. If all goes well Kızılelma can even be flying with a TF6000 in its heart before 2023 ends. Of course this is probably the best case scenario. However I can not help but imagine Kızılelma flying with a TF6000 as early as mid 2023 in the real best case scenario. Should a pressing situation emerge this can very well happen.

TEI-TF6000 turbofan engine
  • Design phase completed. Prototype production commenced
  • First month of 2023, the production will be completed
  • First quarter of 2023, First ignition of engine will be carried out
  • We chosed the core of TF6000 for Atak-2. This core can generate 3500-4000lbs of power.
  • Next step will be MMU engine
It will also propel Kizilelma.
As well as KE propulsion, 4 of these will propel FAC type boats.
Also industrial use for oil pumps and electric generation is being envisaged.

1 / 2 is enough for FACs for booster configuration, i doubt if TN will desire to use 4 x Gas turbines they usually go for 2 + 2 , 2 + 1 etc.

Mr Akşit: "The Tf6000 is actually a technological preparation for the MMU's engine. When we increase the radius of the TF6000 by 15 cm, we will have reached the level of 35000lb thrust"

Mr Akşit: "We couldn't make it to the fair, but the Tf6000 is designed with afterburner. When we add a 1.5m afterburner, the Tf6000 will be 3.5m length"

Mr Akşit: "The first engine supplied for MIUS from Ukraine(AI-25TLT) produces 2700lb of thrust. We will produce 6000lb power with same weight and size of Ukrainian engine."

He said "when we increase the radius by 15cm..." not the diameter.

Mr Akşit: "It's not the 35000lb thrust level that will challenge us in MmU's engine. We are confident that we will reach this level. There are some new technologies that will challenge us in MMU engine such as Coverging Diverging nozzle technology that we are currently working on. Since the MMU engine is a new generation engine, it must be stealth"

Thanks tolgaözbek.com

Mr Akşit: "If we attach a dynamo to this motor(Tf6000), this motor can meet the electricity needs of 4000 houses."
It's such a pleasure listening to him talk about engines. I wish we could see him more. The man has a glow that makes you trust him immediately. It's weird. Maybe it's just me.

Delighting explanations, but Akşit and Kotil are too optimistic. It's the first time we're going to do something like this, we have to be cautious. TEI does these things for others, but that's another case. Our feet should be on the ground a little and the explanations should be accordingly.

I appreciate Dr. Uğur Zengin, Deputy General Manager of MMU in these matters.
