Didnt know where else to post this: https://www.tusas.com/en/corporate/about-us

According to TAI / TUSAS the company still holds 5,6% in Airbus Military. However, Airbus Military was reorganized and merged with another company to form Airbus Defence and Space https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_Defence_and_Space I wonder if the shares are still held and how much of the new company is held by TAI.

And on topic:
And apparently TAI owns 100% TR Motor now. Is that correct? -> again here: https://www.tusas.com/en/corporate/about-us
That would mean that TAI is competing twice as TAI or TEI and TR Motor for some of our engine projects.

According to TR Motor itself all shares are owned by TAI and Savunma Sanayi Teknolojileri A.Ş.

If that is accurate, is there any need any more to have to separate entities, and why not just merge the activites?

There are three bidders for Phase-II of the National Fighter Engine Project
1) TEI/GE
2) Kale/RR
3) TRMotor/Ivchenko Progress

SSB will evaluate the main offers and will decide to go on with one of them after that work packages will be distributed between companies so this is not a usual competition tender, in the end, everyone will get their own share. The IP rights of the engine will belong to SSB(or a SSB owned entity).

germany do the same tactic for high tech products. They invide Local companies or Controled by Local (mean german) and at end of biding they select 2 bidders.
Usually 50-50 split for producing the same product

Ukraine will provide the AL-322F-30 version for Turkish projects.
It will be an improved version of Al-322F-28

I guess the dry thrust might be increased to 6600lbf(3200 kN) and improvements will be made for IR signature.

İsmail DEMİR: “A New Step in Our TÇD National Engine Development Process for the Production of a Domestic Engine for MMU”

In a news we published a while ago, we are working on Phase-II studies, which constitute the second phase in the development process of the new generation original turbofan engine that will power the National Combat Aircraft (MMU/TF-X) designed to meet the operational needs of the Turkish Air Force between 2030 and 2070. We have announced that a tender will be opened by the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB) in the coming days in order to determine the Main Contractor Company for the purpose. According to the information we received, Kale and TEI Firms could submit bids for the Phase-II tender of the MMU/TF-X Engine Development Project, apart from TRMotor Power Systems (TR-M) Company, which carried out the Phase-I works. SSB İsmail DEMİR shared the following information in response to a question whether there was a problem in the tender process or in the procurement of F-110 for National Combat Aircraft and F404 Turbofan Engine for HÜRJET from the USA: “We will start with the F-110 Engine for the National Combat Aircraft. , we said that we will launch our first plane with it, there is no change in this regard. As of now, we do not have a problem with motor supply. The Call for Proposals Document (TÇD) we have published is actually a study that includes the domestic engine in Turkey. Of course, this Call for Proposals Document is a little different from the classical RFDs. This TÇD was published to potential players in Turkey's national jet engine journey, and they should come together to reconsider this offer, create a roadmap for domestic engine production, and walk hand in hand on a roadmap where all existing capabilities in Turkey are on the table. aims to establish its strategy. Because Turkey does not have a very deep history in this regard, we do not have many experienced engineers and designers. That's why we don't have the luxury of dividing them into three or four parts, so we have to combine them and work them together in a coordinated manner. We have manufacturing capabilities TEI has demonstrated very important manufacturing capabilities. Further material research and manufacturing techniques are being studied, but the TÇD we mentioned is a new step in our national engine development process.

There is no problem with the HÜRJET engine at the moment. As a matter of fact, there will be no problems when starting out from the beginning, so to speak, it has been guaranteed. In that respect, we did not make an alternative plan. We don't expect any trouble because of the promises made when we first set out that there will be no trouble." said.

It seems like the Batu engine and transmission will be coupled and put on the bench test as a single unit. By the end of 2022 or early 2023 integration on the Altay mobility test prototype might start if there are no problems. After that 10000km mobility tests will start. This timetable should bring us to the end of 2023, Q1 of 2024 for the full qualification. Some amount of LRIP tanks could be delivered by the end of 2024 if no problems occur.
