Some accounts claim this engine is basically a copy of F110 as a backup plan for KAAN's initial batch. Like we have to pay hefty penalty, because no licence but at least KAAN can fly.
THIS IS NOT MY OPINION.

Question… How likely is it that this is an attempt to pressure the U.S. and GE into supplying the first batches of the TAI KAAN with F-110 engines?
If it is merely a cheap copy with a shorter service life of 1,000 to 2,000 operating hours, it would serve its purpose until the TF-35000 is ready—assuming the engine is actually seriously real.

As you know, diplomacy often relies on symbolism and presentations to convey a message.

Why go for 42000lbs then?

Very unlikely. Contrary to common belief, Americans are not so inexperienced and dumb to buy that

As you know, diplomacy often relies on symbolism and presentations to convey a message.
A very beautiful description of diplomacy 🫡

As I’ve already mentioned, this engine doesn’t make sense; the thrust (lbf) of this engine and that of the TF 35000 are too close together, and the core of the TF 35000 still has room to grow to reach 38,000–39,000 lbf. So if this engine and the project are indeed real, I don’t see the point in developing a second engine of a similar class, unless it’s a disposable product after 2–3 years, and even then I’m not entirely sure.

Please let somebody ask them where they manufacture and produce the parts of that engine. They do have a specific factory that we do not know so far. ??

Please use your brain for a second. Let’s say you’re right—why are we then begging for planes like the Eurofighter as a stopgap until the TAI KAAN… when a new engine is practically ready and has already been unveiled in the Ministry of Defense’s drawer?
You’ll see—it doesn’t make any sense! People are right to be skeptical…

I have my doubts too, but..
As a reminder, the Yildirim missile, shown on a parade at the first time, was in our inventory 7 years before.
I dont know. Maybe I will call R.T. Erdo tomorrow and ask him for clarification.

J-600 was a license built Chinese B611. There's a reason why subsequent missiles are not named Yıldırım. Because they are not related.

Ok i am using my brain
- We have 240 f16 with F110 engine that needs periodic replacments and if US refuse to sell us we domt have airforce anymore , let alone KAAN , its another matter ...

Aslo those kind of engines can used in warships like LM 2500 so we it does make alot sense

Looks already deleted but i saw this tweet few minutes ago.

Firstly no, many engine builders actually do present their projects. Literally noone else ever goes to an industry fair and says "oh we made this in our free time, it's quite literally the second most powerful fighter jet engine ever built." Noone buys this. Any person with a modicum of knowledge on the matter simply calls it bs if they are a foreigner or goes out of their way to not call it bs if they are Turkish. Because kids will go angry when you call this stuff bullshit, because the MoD himself wouldn't lie.

What's shown is not an engine. It looks like an engine, but it isn't. Lack of test footage also corroborates the same. There's no second team working on a 42K engine behind the veil. Making a 35K engine is hard as it is and it's taking years of our time and millions. There's no need for this bullshit. It simply only damages our reputation.

It's from this image.

Whoever is spouting all these are hacks, they are liars, working to line their own pockets. They are basically traitors to this country. All this is a sham, lie. I simply hope that this is not a sign of what's to come for this industry. If it is, we are fucked. No ifs, no buts. This is nothing less than spitting on the faces of tens of thousands of people working on this industry, trying to build actual, real things.
The yandas's have moved on to the last industry that has not been completly sucked dry by them.

This is the their entry into that.

We will see money go into these "projects" that exist only on paper with nothing to show for it and the money will and up in the pockets of a handful yandas's.

Same old story of this country over the last 2 decades.

WTF is even MSB Arge. No face, no names, no titles. Unprofessional to the max, can't even print info cards correctly.

Clown show all around, I bet Yildirimhan they came up with in the last few weeks, "You know what would be a good idea to deter hostile countries, OUR OWN ICBM, lets slap something together and show it off and then point it at the one country we need the one thing from that would make Kaan fly."

Im sure this hit like crack to for the population that cant wait for the ruling party to give them a excuse to go and vote for them again.

MSB also has nothing to do with the TSK. MSB is a department run by the ruling party, as such they can run free there meanwhile all this hurts the reputation and credibility of actual competent companies and worst of all TSK.

I don't think votes are the motivator because they don't need anything extra against such inept opposition.

I have a glimmer of hope that this somehow turns out to be something we can salvage.

Oh please spare me this melodrama, will you?
What is going with defence industry?
Apart from Kaan flying, Hurkus flying and being sold , Hurjet likewise, or defence and ballistic missile documented successes , what is really happening.
All this drama, yesterday and today on this forum and elsewhere, for what exactly?
Is is it some sort of competition who is more in the daily routine mould?
Turkey has been developing ballistics and rocket engines for some time, so I think that Turkey can make ICBM , though I don't see the point without nuclear warheads. But then again maybe Pakistan can provide one or two?
I am more sceptical about this air engine but as far as I know, even on this platform, people have been saying that TAI can make in-house 60 to 70 % of F110 engin, so I think in the last 10 years, Turks could add another 30 40% .
In any case,we will see in year or two
MSB institute? Well, if it is supposed secret like these projects , so why would they be clear to public????
Feel free to think that your summarisation represents some sort of truth.
And yes , if I am them ( Turkish government) I would do the same things, afterall destroy in valuable project is kind of hobby of previous structures and I believe that fact has been mentioned here on few occasions, no?

Guys. I have a theory.

This engine is an f110 clone with slight differences. It does not have 42k lbf thrust, maybe 30-36k.

The reason it was built outside of TEI is to throw off Americans/for plausible deniability.

This is basically KAAN's insurance.

And this is my theory.

It is betrayal to entire Turkish defense industry. This argument is inclusive to anyone who keeps endorsing MoD R&D.

Then presumably MoD R&D somehow has 1000+ personnel working on design, manufacturing, assembly and testing just for this engine.

Are those imaginary personnel in the same room, can you see them, can you see job-openings for those positions?

Or is it the deus-ex-machina appearing out of thin air to break ice, and support someone's promotion.

This is pure betrayal, nothing more, nothing less.
