There is no decisive picture that would give away the actual innards of the Tempest Engine. All we can see and gather from this picture and from various other more detailed ones, is that there are provisions for very large electrical power generation. The engine looks like it comprises of:
3 stages LP compressor
6 stages HP compressor
1 stage HP turbine
1 stage LP turbine

We know that Japanese used 5th gen single crystal turbine blades on their totally indigenous IHI XF9-1. If RR is going to use similar we do not know.
This engine does not seem to have adaptive cycle tech. Yet 6th generation jets should fly very very high at much faster speeds.
Until first prototype flies we won’t know much. Even then they may use an engine that is not meant for the actual tempest plane. (First EF prototype had flown with RB199 tornado engines)
The BAE Systems demonstrator will use EJ200 engines. First flight expected end 2027/early 2028.

EJ200 uses single crystal blade technology so I guess the GCAP engine will use that technology.

In terms of designed/built/run/in testing/certificated what is the current position with TF6000, TF10000, TF35000?

  • TF6000 to be delivered to Baykar to fly in Kızılelma prototypes expected to happen in 3-6 months (some cooling features are not implemented)
  • TF10000 to be ignited before the end of 2027 (information disclosed by TEI CEO yesterday)
  • TF35000 to be first flown in Kaan in the first quarter of 2030 (information disclosed by TAI CEO yesterday)

All modern western jet engines use single crystal turbine blade technology.
Russian engines up until AL-51-F1 engine in SU57, used directionally solidified crystal blades.

Directionally solidified crystal blades are formed in layers of crystalline lattices. During extreme heat and rotational speeds these crystal layers move over each other due to grain boundaries that occur between each layer and thus they can deform..

All Western jet engines use single crystal structure, where the whole of the blade is one single crystal. This stops grain boundaries.

By adding different exotic transitional metal elements in to the nickel super alloys, like rhenium; (By adding more of this, 3% for second gen, 6% for gen 3)
By adding ruthenium and platinum you could produce 4th and 5th gen single crystal blades.

We know that the tempest engine turbines will run at high temperatures. As the Japanese engine is rated at 24000lbf dry and 33000lbfwet thrust with 5th gen blades, the RR engine should not be below that spec.
EJ200 engine has 2nd generation CMSX-4 class blades.

TF6000 : Still in development stage. But coming close to its usable stage. Required parameters have been archived mostly. TEI is planning to deliver an engine to be integrated to Kizilelma before end of year or early next year.

TF10000 : First Engine in production. TEI plans to fire a first engine before the end of 2027.
TF35000 : TAI CEO has stated that in early 2030 a TF35000 will fly on a KAAN. There is no news if any of the engine is in production yet.

Is that why the engine delivery is delayed or are they planning to provide such engines without the aforementioned cooling features?

I have no clue but I am guessing they will implement the cooling features in stages. This initial configuration still works but probably has shorter service life at full power of the engine.

1000 engines have been produced of the Kale KTJ series. Production of the first one(3700) started in 2022 so roughly 222 engines a year although I guess production numbers were relatively low in 2022 and 2023 since it was a new production line and low order numbers so we can assume the bulk of production happened since 2024. if we assume that overall numbers in 2022 and 2023 were under 200 the average would be more like 320 a year from 2024 until today.

But overall production is still too low but army has only recently started ordering in good quantities so we can assume that dispersion is uneven.

Bro,
Your timelines are a little off. Apparently before KTJ 3700, it was the KTJ 3200 that was produced for SOM and Atmaca missiles.
KTJ 3200 engines’ serial production started early 2022.
Then it was KTJ 3700 serial production in January 2024. These were for Kara Atmaca missiles.
Then in 2025 the KTJ 1750’s serial production started for CAKIR AShM.

It has to be remembered that the missiles these propel are million dollar missiles. SOM missile is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 million dollars for export and probably best part of a million dollar for us. Atmaca missiles to Malaysia were 3.3 million each. Kara Atmaca is probably going to cost 1.5 to 2 million each.
CAKIR missile will probably be in excess of 600 thousand dollars too.

So 1000 engines will result in 2+ billion dollar worth of munition having been manufactured in around 3 to 4 years. That is a lot of necessary but dead financial investment.

Where did you get missile prices ? Source?

This was discussed here before. If you read the old posts you would not have asked this question .
If you google it you will find the answers yourself too.

Take SOM; in 2018 it was estimated to be in excess of 1 million dollars.
With today’s cost base and market prices, it should be close to 2 million dollars.

SOM missile price was mentioned by Ismail Demir (then SSB President) to be in excess of 1 million dollars. Roketsan’s MD says it is in excess of million dollars in 2018.

Malaysia Signed contract to buy 24 Atmaca missiles for 79 million Euros.
This deal probably includes the complete system with canisters, and training , plus targeting software/hardware.

New harpoon costs 2.4 million dollars each. Murat ikinci says by using Atmaca we are saving 500 million dollars on total 350 harpoon missiles we need for our ships etc. you do the math.

The Roketsan official said Turkey aims to save up to $500 million from the Atmaca replacement program, as the homemade missile comes in at around half the price of a Harpoon.

according to below news Indonesia is going to pay around 1.5 million dollars each for the Atmaca missile.
