Literally every institution, every ministry is incredibly corrupt and FETÖ is still alive in the government. Hell, even PKK has its hands in the government now.

The defence industry (and military) is the only thing that's going good. But it's not immune to the disease that's swept through everything else.

So I can totally understand why a lot of people are concerned.

There was only the MOD himself in the MSB Arge presentations as a politician and himself is the previous Chief of Staff an old school officer from the olden times. And all he does as a political message is to place flashy Atatürk signatures on their display objects which is not very welcome indeed. So there is nothing good for an election campaign in this show.

WTF is a Bayraktar TBT-AI?
Or is it a typo that's supposed to be the TB-2 AI?

In an competently lead country this shitshow would lead to the whole MSB Arge being sacked and blacklisted in the industry. Damaged the reputation and credibility of the Turkish defense industry for what? We all know what, election propaganda.

Fucking clowns. Trying to turn the country into Iran V2.

man if they really did go down the iran route, what a disaster. They have basically taken a shit on the entire reputation of the Turkish defence industry. And if it works as election properganda that is an ominous sign. It means the the common Turks are becoming as dumb as the common Iranians under their Islamic regime.

This piece of shit was being sold to the iranian people by the islamic republic as a 5th gen fighter in 2013. Fast forward to 2026 and the Iranians are being directly bombed by isreal and the usa, while they have zero airforce.

I would hate to be 10 years from now and such a piece of shit will be defended by the Turkish people themselves no different to how the Iranians today still defend this fighter jet, which now they claim wasn't really meant to be a fighter jet its actually an unmanned UAV. As the scams get exposed the excuses keep shifting, already sounds like that going to take place with this 6k missile.

Minister Güler: “We have produced six GÜÇHAN turbofan engines.”

We have taken our work to a new level with the technology hub we established two years ago within the Ministry of National Defence’s R&D Centre.

Our YILDIRIMHAN Long-Range Missile represents a significant technological milestone as Turkey’s first liquid-fuelled missile system capable of hypersonic flight and boasting the longest range.

Having successfully completed laboratory testing, we will commence field or ground testing of the system in the coming period.

Another product we have developed in this context is the GÜÇHAN Turbofan Jet Engine.

It is a national jet engine developed entirely by the Ministry of National Defence’s R&D Centre.

To date, we have produced a total of six of these engines, all of which feature critical components manufactured using domestic capabilities.

We plan to carry out the testing and calibration processes for these engines from November 2026 onwards. Our primary objective here is to reduce reliance on foreign technologies, enhance our own engineering capabilities, and lead the way for defence industry firms by establishing a sustainable national infrastructure.

We know that our citizens, our country, and the Turkish Armed Forces need such a product. God willing, we will continue to diversify our product range in the coming period. Thank you.”

Unrelated but it is little sad that there were deals for all the UAV projects but Anka-3. It was even ahead of Kızılelma with IWB tests, however, it seems that it will enter inventory no earlier than late 2027

This may only mean they have made 6 builds. Remember Mr. Mahmut Akşit mentioned that they probably need to make 15 builds before they are done with developing the TF35k engine. So they probably got to like 40% of the way to a usable product. Lame but could be considered a candidate if TEI's efforts were not in place.

It seems a plethora of new military technologies were showcased at the SAHA-2026 exhibition.
Perhaps even too many.

So there were critics who couldn't accept all these innovations.
It seems their main argument boils down to one thing: "This can't be true because Turkey isn't capable of producing such technology."

But in reality, for example, the intercontinental missile showcased there can only be considered new in Turkey, since some countries have been producing them for almost 70 years. Germany developed an intercontinental missile (two-stage!) back in 1944 to attack America.

Remember how some foreign critics started screaming about the Bayraktar TB2 about 10 years ago? They demanded that Turkey stop producing these "soulless killers." Incidentally, unfortunately, there were politicians in Turkey itself who demanded the same thing. 🙄
Hmm.

Surely they haven't forgotten that it was the "son-in-law's" ;) drone that became the first in the world to shoot down an aerial target with an air-to-air missile.
Let's remember the Sultan Mehmet cannons: history doesn't care who built them—the Türkiye president's son-in-law or Hungarian President Urban himself🫢

I don't understand why some of our forum participants saw something incredible at this exhibition.

I didn't see anything supernatural among all these new products.

The problem is credibility and reputation, as well as national security related for the ICBM case. They should never display stuff like Güchan if a prototype was not successfully tested before. Otherwise it is like selling a dream. Especially concerning an ICBM it is a disgrace and dangerous for the country. Our enemy can use this against us to do a „preventive“ strike, even though they know it is a farce. Such weapons should only be showcased after we have sufficient numbers in the inventory. This is irresponsible what MoD did, I am ashamed and sorry on their behalf.

Güchan: Seems like a Frankenstein engine. Maybe Motorsich engineers had a go at the GE engine with the aim of reverse engineer or somehow upgrade it.

Yildirimhan: Was not just a white rabbit they pulled out of a hat. It was a freaking polar bear. Cannot decide whether I am amazed or on the verge of cringe.

Abi honestly there’s nothing supernatural here. In fact, we defence enthusiasts were enthusiastic about such levels. In time eventually. But we’re also realistic and someway want to see shred of proof. Something tangible. Some data to speculate rather than some pathetic info card filled with absurd figures and hulk of an engine.

Really?

You think a 42k lbs engine, from a group of people that have done fuck all when it comes to engines is normal? An engine that has more power than the one TEI, company of our foremost engine experts, have been working on. They built 6 of them, but brought a mock up with its fans welded onto its frame to Saha Expo for their big reveal, instead of bringing a working model to shove it in everyone's face.

And you take that at its face value without any further proof?

MSB ARGE's Turboshaft engine for helicopters

HHs8i5hXwAId09d

Lycoming T53-L-13 turboshaft, Used in UH-1s

2013_10_Page_18_Image_0001.jpg

Is this a loophole that MSB is using to get around licence infringements and copy/paste or reverse engineer US engines?
