MUFA will be able to carry a 400kg payload to an orbit of 550km. The first launch is planned for 2026-2027. The rocket will have cryogenic engines.

What would be the equivalent range of the rocket if it was repurposed as a missile(and the payload capacity)?

Besides, Rocket launch facility is being established in Turkiye. The option to launch from abroad no longer exists. We can live this pride alive.

No military missile uses a cryogenic engine so it would have been the first of its kind.

I do not recall we have ever experimented on oxidizers in the past, do we have the know how?

Iirc the payload would be 400kg around the world which is very small.

South Africans had a rocket that could deliver that much around the world but their warhead weight was too heavy.

Would be nice if you'd show the source just like the post below yours, Mr. Insider.

In fact, you can see where Turkey is in the ballistic missiles tech by comparing the rocket technologies of countries with similar SLV technology. Israel is the closest example to Turkey in this regard.

Israel Shavit SLV: 1.35m diameter, 300/500kg payload to 600km altitude
Israel Jerinco-3 ballistic missile: 1.56m diameter, 1000kg warhead to around 5000km

Turkey MUFA (2026): 1.35m diameter, 400kg payload to 550km
Turkey Şimşek UFA (~2030): ~2.5m diameter, 1500kg to 700/800km (Most likely, Those figures will be updated thanks to more advanced cryogenic rocket engine tech)

Jericho III carries a 1000kg warhead to 5000+km (some say up to 6500km) and a smaller warhead to over 10000+km (according to congress up to 11500km)

Look up the RSA-3, far more details online about it even though it’s almost identical to the Jericho.

Hope it happens. IMECE was something like a scientific project to produce satellite subsystems with little military use in mind but It turned out to be a sub 1m resolution recon satellite. Great product.

This must be for small payloads. Otherwise we are in for a big disadvantage.
For large payloads like more than 2 tons the cost of not using the earths rotational catapulting effect which is the biggest near the equator will require more powerful rockets for the same payload.

They should at least whisper the launchpad location.
