We're Going to Space with Domestic and National Technologies! 👏
We visited NurusTR, which manufactures the first domestic container that will take our IMECE satellite to the launch area and the device that will transport it horizontally and position it vertically in the launch area. 🛰️
Every stage of IMECE belongs to us!

Pretty sophisticated Satellite Container

contracting out jobs to small businesses was very important for the development of the space industry in Turkiye It's heartening to see that we've accomplished this.

Yıldırım: Turkey aims to establish a sustainable and commercially competitive spaceport "somewhere near the equator" "with international collabration" "operated by a multinational management". (Around 4:00 onwards)

The only real option would be Somalia or a floating spaceport near the territorial waters of Somalia.

Though based on recent annoucements of cooperation Argentina, El Salvador and Indonesia are also possibilities. (However, their proximity to the equator is arguable)

Indonesia is pretty much on the equator and would be good candidate. It is lot more stable + developed than Somalia.

Biak, papua has been considered number of times in this media (and in various threads of this forum which I can link to later if ppl interested):

Floating spaceport etc, that would cost too much money and you are constrained by the size you can build (given the kind of ground support logistics you need for heavy launchers especially). It could be considered for the time being (for light and medium launchers), but it wont be easy to scale into heavy launch needs.

I'd reckon El Salvador is the prime spot. They have a big domestic terrorism issue and we got the counter-terrorism expertise to deal/assist with that. There might be some kind of deal in regards to that.

"Help me improve the domestic security conditions in my country, and I'll let you establish bases for whatever purpose you want."

I really wish this "spaceport" also have a air-naval base right next to it. ;)

Somalia is in the same timezone as Türkiye and at the nearest distance. Their security issue is better addressable today than just a year ago. A spaceport located on one of the small islands in the south of the country can be serviced by supporting ships. Being closer to some other partner countries as well makes this spot more attractive.

Mr Varank: "The most important feature of this satellite is that the camera you see in the middle was produced by us at the OPMER Optical Research Center, which was also opened by our President.

There are countries that want to order the camera we use on the IMECE satellite from abroad. There are countries that want to make satellites similar to this satellite with us and even order ready-made ones. In fact, we also signed a preliminary agreement regarding the sale of cameras. But we will announce it to the public when they materialize"

IMECE's resolution as we had guessed before should be around 0.9 meters.
So you can see objects that have 0.81 m² as one whole pixel.

Turkey should never give such technologies to foreign countries
There is a reason for why certain entities didnt want Turkey to obtain such tech

Imece and Turksat 6A will carry us to the champions league of the satellite business. National contribution is at insane levels at those satellites. When it comes to space business %70+ national contribution is a lot.

Turkish Space force aka Space group command will be run by the Turkish airforce.

So Turkiye has planned its own space force. I never knew this.
