Short Wave InfraRed(SWIR) spectral imager is good at detecting difference between materials and penetrating fog and mist.

DAS can act as both MAWS and IRST. I think form factor of meshed detector will be same.

And also another thing to note, none of the officials mentioned DAS to function as IRST, we just know that it is specified for detecting stuff in close range or detecting very hot stuff from far, also how tf are you supposed to use that for A2A without a normal IRST stabilisation, (look at Leonardo Pirate, you got stabilisation and space to move, DAS doesn't have these)


You wouldn't be wrong if you said "EOTS can function as an IRST" but still it is more optimized for A2G than A2A

I unfortunately can't as current info is comes from Savunmasanayist. TAI is also strictly against speaking of foreign collaborations unless they sign some papers. So we gotta wait and see.
