Tolga Özbek's article about the TAI tour on January 11, 2023

View attachment 55228

What is the localization rate of the MMU/TF-X aircraft?

The aircraft's engines, ejection seat,
active side stick (control stick) and valves and a few other parts that do not cost a lot of money are outsourced. Therefore, the rate of foreign parts and subsystems does not exceed 15%.

My, how quickly we've forgotten all the nay-sayers from as recently as last year, going all the way back to 2014, claiming it would be impossible to have TFX roll out by 2023. It would take at least 20 years, they said, or impossible for Turkiye to do altogether.

TAI has proven they are capable of meeting and even beating their projected timelines for these projects. Clowns on the internet have proven they can't predict anything correctly.
Tbh It wasn't the real tfx that did a roll out Its a tech demonstrator I didn't said this btw @MADDOG did he knows TAI well better than me

If you wait for the nationalization of every component, expect another 1–2 years of additional development. We already cannot afford the gap till 2030.

Have some trust in TAI, pretty sure they anticipate every scenario. Hopefully we're talking about easily exchangeable parts with an agenda to reach close to 100% in the near to midterm.
This ++++++++

In the photo above:

It is stated that the detection, tracking and imaging systems of TF-X will be completed in 2023.

In 2026, it is stated that the BURFIS system will be completed by Aselsan for the TF-X. (MMU BR) (Low Visibility Radar and Electronic Warfare Integrated Antenna Designs Suitable for 5th Generation Aircraft Structure, Radar and Electronic Warfare Integrated Receiving / Sending Structures, AESA Based Combat Aircraft Radar Algorithms with Simultaneous Functioning and Wideband High Performance RF Components)

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) signed a protocol for the establishment of the 'Flow Dynamics and Simulation Laboratory' to be located in Dokuz Eylül University Engineering Faculty.

In the laboratory, where 20 researchers will work, advanced R&D solutions to be used on unique platforms developed by Turkish Aerospace Engineers will be developed together with academicians and students. Within the scope of the protocol, studies that will form the basis of very important projects such as aerodynamics and aircraft performance concept design tool modeling and open source software development will take place.

The signed protocol also includes training graduate students and postdoctoral researchers working on strategic issues for the company, developing undergraduate graduation projects and providing project scholarship opportunities for students. In addition, 5,000 cores will be allocated from a total of 70,000 core computer systems owned by Turkish Aerospace Industries for advanced R&D studies to be carried out in this laboratory.

Sharing his views on academic cooperation, Turkish Aerospace Industries General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said, “With our Rooted Universities, we also ensure the academic strength of our engineers working in our Company within the scope of academic studies. We believe that it is important to train engineers at the same time, while implementing the projects that will shape the Turkish Aviation ecosystem, one by one."

I doubt that. All E/O systems, electronic components are indigenous? Never!
Never is a bold statement, there is work going on to develop more components like LCD displays and chips and such in Türkiye, once they are realized all there will be left will be off the shelf components that we keep plenty of stock for civilian products already. If you can not find the latest technology parts you can usually live with a little dumbed down parts that will still do the job.

OMG! What a beast. Look at this giant thing. It's like my heart is about to explode while watching the footage. These feelings are truly indescribable. TFX has a perfect design in every respect. An amazing aircrraft to fall in love with from the side profile as well.
Btw test pilot was crying?
