Just check, how big supersonic wind tunnels are.
Look at the ones that NASA is using.
Biggest one is the Abe Silverstein wind tunnel. That is 10 ft x 10 ft.
Glenn Research centre uses a 8 x 6 ft supersonic wind tunnel.
Aerolab Services offers supersonic wind tunnels of 1inch x 1inch and 12inch x 12inch supersonic wind tunnels.
Most important one is the subsonic ones. You get that one right then you are halfway there.
It is not a big deal to produce supersonic wind tunnels. A lot of Universities and research centres have it.
Hypersonic wind tunnels are a different ball game. They are quite different and need quite a bit of engineering. Currently, China, Russia, US, India, Japan, UK and France have hypersonic wind tunnels in varying levels. Some are industrial scale some are university research level.
China’s JF22 can test theoretically wind speeds of Mach 30, simulating 30-40km altitude.

I have red the news saying that turkey is open for a collaboration from any foreign country to develop the TF-X , does that mean turkey at the moment is struggling on this project and it could be canceled in case no foreign help is found ?

Turkey is open to collaboration, because we want orders and to share some of the burden. But the project is proceeding full speed.

wouldn't this backfire on the PR aspect ? I mean everyone will see that turkey is desperate for any kind of help to keep the project going .

plus , no offence but do you think turkey have the political power to do so ? I mean what if russia , china or eygpt asked turkey the nato partner to join the tf-x project . would turkey accept or reject ? I have asked kinda the same question on the S400 thread and from what I see from the turkish member here that turkey have almost 0 authority on it's s400 program .

sorry to ask you these kind of question but that news regarding the tf-x is quite vague

We are looking for customers; Russia and China are practically out of question. Smaller countries that are not in conflict of interest with Turkey are welcome to join.

I think it would be good PR and proof that the TFX is a good product, because other countries are interested in joining and procuring.

Hürkuş was in series, now Hürjet will be serialized

We have the Hürkuş, which is currently in mass production, that we have finished, this is our propeller training and attack aircraft. We are flying this jet-powered Hürjet, with God's permission. The end of 2022, the beginning of 2023, again on March 18, 2023 We are flying with the 100th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic and the victory of Çanakkale. This goes into series in 2025. Hürkuş was in the series, now Hürjet will be put into the series.

MMU to be delivered in 2028

National Combat Aircraft is running the engine in the hangar in 2023. Engine roll-out. We fly in 2025, deliver in 2028. It is to be delivered twice a month. This type of aircraft, you know from the F-35, costs about 100 million dollars. Two a month, 24 a year means a turnover of 2.4 billion dollars. National Combat Aircraft alone.

Temel KOTİL: Yes, we continue to buy. We have now come to 1,000 engineers at MMU. We passed 4,000 in the company. What we bought 4-5 years ago has now started to become experienced. It is a motion, that is, a self-sustaining mechanism. We, as TAI, will solve our problem, hopefully we will find 10,000 engineers. Temel KOTİL: In the 5th generation fighter aircraft, the pilot uses more weapon systems rather than using the aircraft, the aircraft is self-propelled. Temel KOTİL: MMU is a total work. Our primary goal is to perform the first engine start on March 18, 2023. Our next goal is to take off the plane on March 18, 2025 and deliver our first plane on March 18, 2028. An airplane is like a living creature, neither easy nor difficult. We found and brought together people to do it, then we set up the necessary infrastructures, and then we do it like a normal business. It is not a miraculous job, but it requires labor-intensive, idea-intensive work, tears and sweat.

Defense Turkey: You mentioned the jet powered UAV at the previous TEKNOFEST. Can we get information about the latest situation?

Temel KOTİL: As TUSAŞ, we have work to do, but we are currently focused on March 18, 2023. Our primary goals are to run MMU engines, Hürjet flights, and ATAK-2 flights. These are indispensable for us right now; other projects after that. Because 18 months are left, now we are counting the months.

Defense Turkey: Gökbey has started flights now. When will deliveries begin?

Temel KOTİL: Deliveries will start next year, I hope. After that, we will start mass production and start exporting to all other forces and abroad. He's gone from the nest now.

Defense Turkey: Will there be Aksungur deliveries to the navy this year?

Temel KOTİL: Yes, all of them are given. We have two planes in the air at TEKNOFEST right now. One came from Ankara and the other from Antalya. Aksungur can stay in the air for up to 50 hours.

Defense Turkey: Temel, do you have a new export good news for this year?

Temel KOTİL: We already say what we do. We sent ANKAs to Tunisia. Philippines' ATAKs are being made. We explain the exports as we make them.

Turkeys next-gen national combat aircraft MMU in Turkish, also known as TF-X is a single-seat, twin-engine all-weather multi-role fighter developed by Turkish aerospace (TUSAS) with technological assistance from bae systems. The MMU/TF-X will replace the f-4e 2020 phantom and f-16c/d fighting falcon aircraft currently in service during the first quarter of the 2030s. The cost for the prototype is estimated at us$120m but each series-production MMU/TF-X is targeted to cost $80m.
Featuring stealth and supercruise capabilities and to be equipped with domestically-developed systems and sensors, the MMU/TF-X will be a 5th generation indigenous air superiority fighter with secondary ground-attack capability. The MMU/TF-X prototype will be in block-0 (4+ generation aircraft) configuration and is expected to be rolled out in 2023 (planned for March 18, 2023), when turkey will celebrate its 100th anniversary of the founding of the republic. Following ground tests that are scheduled to start sometime in 2024 and to last around two years, the maiden flight will be performed in December 2026. MMU/TF-X delivery to the TurAF will commence in 2029 and the first aircraft expected to enter TurAF service in 2029 will be in Block-i configuration. The TurAF is expected to declare initial operational capability (IOC) with block-i MMU/TF-X in 2031. According to the programme schedule, TUSAS will start MMU/TF-X Block-iI (in full 5th generation fighter configuration) deliveries in 2031and following their entrance into TurAF service, full operational capability (FOC) will be declared by the end of 2032.

İ wonder which engine will use in MMU's first serial production? Because it seems TR Motor's engine will not catch up MMU's given serial production date.
