Temel Kotil:
  • AI will do the duty of second pilot at TF-X MMU
  • Landing gears are being developed by a Turk and Italian institute but licence rights will be owned by Turkey.
  • Air conditioning system are being developed by Turkish institute.
  • To achieve our goal, Huge majority of TFX MMU components including engines must be indigenous.

Where is this from? Is that something official? If so, that confirms at least three orders for T129 and AZ joined almost a decade ago.

The last point is getting me excited. Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh are big countries that could order large quantities or join as a partner. Indonesia - what about KFX? And Kazakhstan seems like the odd one, probably only a potential customer.

We will see whether our Mindef present or not in KFX/IFX roll out ceremony, but latest presentation of KAI CEO in 29 March shows Indonesian Airforce as user of KFX/IFX and will possibly order the plane starting in 2026

TAI (@TUSAS_TR ) signed a cooperation agreement with "FIT AG", one of the additive manufacturing manufacturers.

Continuing its R&D studies rapidly in the context of today's rapidly developing aviation and space technologies, TAI is signing new collaborations to develop production methods based on additive manufacturing, which it announced for the first time in recent months. With the cooperation agreement between FIT AG and TAI, it is aimed to develop additive manufacturing methods based on aviation on a global scale and to develop different joint productions related to design and production. This will pave the way for mutual knowledge transfer with the goal of increasing production competencies in additive manufacturing. With the agreement, a significant strategic superiority will be achieved in parts that cannot be supplied from abroad, have finished or difficult to find, and have long supply times.

With the cooperation agreement, detailed cooperation issues on additive manufacturing design, production and mass production processes will be evaluated and they will act jointly in the development of innovative platforms. In addition, the process, technology and manufacturing processes to be jointly developed will be integrated within the scope of TAI projects, thus paving the way for the rapid implementation of high value-added and high-tech products. It is planned to gain advantage in production with the additive manufacturing method, which is described as a transformation that can significantly affect the cost and quality cycles. In this context, primarily National Combat Aircraft, Satellite, UAV and Hürjet projects will be targeted, and then qualified parts production processes will be implemented for other TAI aviation platforms.
