The dates for the start of the export of Ukrainian hydrogen have been announced
Hydrogen is a distant prospect for Ukraine

Ukraine plans to start supplying hydrogen to Europe in ten years, but first it is necessary to resolve the issue with the "pipe".
Ukraine will be able to start transporting hydrogen to Europe no earlier than in 10 years. This assessment was given by the head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Serhiy Makogon, in an interview with BusinessCensor, published on Friday, December 10.
“According to our estimates, the development of this area will take at least 10 years. Now we pin more hopes on biomethane, we see a very great potential in this area. Theoretically, Ukraine can produce up to 8 billion cubic meters of biomethane per year,” he said.
According to Makogon, the main problem with transporting hydrogen is that it has a very negative effect on the structure of the metal. “Metal loses its plasticity, becomes more fragile. We are now working with specialized institutions that we still have to study this issue,” he explained.
Consultations on this issue are also underway with operators of gas transmission systems of other countries that have entered the Central European Hydrogen Corridor.
As a reminder, in August Naftogaz and RWE Supply & Trading signed a memorandum of understanding. They agreed to analyze the possibilities of cooperation in creating the production of "green" hydrogen and its derivatives, in particular ammonia. In particular, we are talking about the development of projects for the production and storage of "green" hydrogen and ammonia in Ukraine and their export to Germany.
