I have been in istanbul for 10+ years, i still use public transport daily, it is superb yes!
Also stayed in 6 different flats, all were amazing!
If lies make you happy, then here it is :)
I have lived in Istanbul all my life, except for some years I spent abroad.

Good news if you feel stuck in traffic, flying cars are coming, its in 3D now but you know what happens when they are already in 3D.

Do you know how well organized Tokyo is, and also how depressing it is have you actually been there and seen it? Istanbul is an overly populated, disorganized city located in an earthquake zone, while we are nowhere near to Japanese in terms of earthquake safety and infastructure, moreover mindset of people.
^this, would be cool if Istanbul copies Tokyos urban development but Turkey unfortunatly is to corrupt for that.

If you knew how I know about cruise ships you would be shutting up forever.
Yes definitely i don't know a thing about them,i don't know people would like to get off in Galataport and sight see istanbul,in fact they would love to leave the ship in Somewhere in canal istanbul and get on the busses, travel all the way down to historical sites.
But wait again, do you mean Erdogan insists on Galata port for nothing? What is purpose of galata port if it is not used for cruise ships?

You have run out of arguments and you don't know how to respond right ? That is why have started insulting :)

Just the opposite it is you who is insulting. I have been a cruise ship professional for some of my life and you are saying I don't know a thing about them. Why are you such a bad boy.

Then you should have known people on cruise ships will like it when a stop-by port to be close with historical sites and a homeport in Black-sea makes no sense.
That is why companies prefer ports nearby to the cities and attractions, not a port out of nowhere in outskirts of a city.
That is why Galataport is being constructed

Of course they do, but when Istanbul is ALSO a home port guests will be flown in to Istanbul and as part of their package they fly in a day or two earlier and do their visits in the city and join the ship after. When Istanbul is a port of call instead of a home port which it has been for decades they do as you said and go on tours from 7 am to 5 pm usually if they are not doing overnight which is infrequent. Cruise business is dead in the pandemic now, naturally. Both Galata Port or any other port can be a home port as people visit the city before they get on the ship. They may only care to see the Bosphorus and the Canal after they get on the ship.

A home port means Turkish citizens can be offered cheaper cruises, as a boon.

Wait a moment, if ,as you claimed,a cruise ship leaves from black-sea, passes from bosphorous and also passes from bosphorous in the return, when is it going to use the canal and how canal is going to contribute for that. The port can be constructed separately from the canal, not related at all. Cruise ships can still use bosphorous to pass.

Discussion stems from how a canal is going to contribute to the cruise liners, while obviously bosphorous will be preffered over a canal for sighseeing too, and what is point of leaving from black-sea and not passing from bosphorous or stopping by at bosphorous? How does that homeport contribute if the ship is going to leave Istanbul from canal?

Why would anyone take the tour through Bosphorus twice the return trip can be made through the canal or the other way around. Home port scheme is not only for Black Sea tours but also for Aegean and Mediterranean tours. In which case tourists can visit the city and the canal as part of their arrival package. There are Panama canal tours for a canal tour example. I am unaware of actual plans for cruise ships but these are possibilities.

Really, how would any liner prefer to pass from canal, why? any particular reason? the distance doesn't change much, it narrower, got no sightseeing.

Why would anyone want to visit canal, or newly made cities? Do you think cement-poured canal is an attraction for tourists?

Becasue there isn't any other natural alternative to pass from Atlantic to Pacific, moreover the panama canal itself is interesting engineering-wise and it serves a purpose like suez to shorten the distance.

In numbers also the amount of shipping is declining, one of the arguments is / was to relieve the straits from increasing shipping (it is not increasing but decreasing!)

Ship traffic through the Bosphorus is decreasing every year but somehow Ulastirma ve Altyapi Bakanligi guarantees nearly 80.000 ships by 2050.

Who did this calculation? 🤣
