I understand the pov, but I am against it. I’d prefer Hurjet being sped up.

make it with 2 different engines if necessary, but speed up all the work on it.

If we can take strong support from outside, and the MSB expands its resource allocation in the context of the emergency, 4++ fighter aircraft can be ready over Hürjet, in 3-5 years. However, this may also have implications for the MMU project schedule.

I am very hopeful about the Red Apple project. In the short term, Red Apple will satisfy our need for air superiority. Especially the low visibility is a big advantage.

I always had doubts about the credibility and the effectiveness of subsonic low flying cruse missiles even if they have stealth characteristics!
And it is becoming clear day by day in ukraine conflict how vulnerable these subsonic cruise missiles are! even when it comes to fairly old and unsophisticated air defense systems equipped with old gen pesa radar and less maneuverable semi active interceptors.

( Ukraine air defense force success rate ( which is mostly consists of buks, kubs and s300 ) against these missile are roughly 60 percent which is lot considering ukraine didn't have any modern air defense from the beginning and they received the first\ nasam battery only last month and german IRIS T SLM is yet to come )

here are just few examples.
https://www.savunmasanayist.com/ukraynali-askerin-manpads-ile-seyir-fuzesi-dusurdugu-anlar/ T https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...ChAWegQIGhAB&usg=AOvVaw3JPMuKsjaYCW6sWcO0wia3 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FBAWegQICBAB&usg=AOvVaw3vGFzf_8G-pp8hRP1lZvRD https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...QQFnoECCkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0SCHwqLpt0ezf2Et54umzk

so, anyone can estimate how bad these will perform against a state of art air defense system equipped with an aesa radar and EOTS and highly maneuverable modern interceptors equipped with active seeker or IIR seeker.

I think, ukraine war should be a worrying development for the air forces who's doctrine heavily relies on subsonic cruise missiles for deep strikes.

AND TURKEY IS CURRENTLY ONE OF THEM.
SO, THAT'S WHY I THINK TURKISH RAMJET MISSILES PROGRAMS HAS STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE AS IT WILL DIVERSIFY THE CURRENT ARSENAL AND WILL OFFER MORE FLEXIBILITY WITH THE COMBINATION OF SUPERSONIC AND SUBSONIC ELEMENTS.

After all, it seems SPEED does matter! And a supersonic cruise missile has better chance defeating AD than a subsonic one.

Note: this is just my personal opinion. Don't take it too seriously! And I am keen to hear your comments on this guys ! @Yasar @dBSPL

What kind of air superiority do you expect in a conflict where missiles fired from US-made aircraft will shoot fish?

I think in today's political conditions, missiles fired by Türk planes can hit fish, but missiles fired by Greek planes can hit our planes. The usa does not allow our planes to shoot down greek planes, but it does allow greek planes to shoot down our planes.
Because of this r*tarded policies We have zero to no ally and even other countries surpassed our air force.

Also we are capable of shooting down jets with our F16s stop with the bullshit you clearly doesn't know shit about what are you talking.

Hurjet is a trainer and It has no chance against any real fighter jet this is just delusional.

So, they removed all conditions ? If so, looks like the EF2000 sale was about to go through and the mericans got edgy.,

If indeed that is the case then they shouldnt go for the F16. Your basically telling the americans that they can screw Turkey on the F35 and their is no cost, we still going to go back to them for inferior planes.

So in the future expect parts issues on these planes etc.

I would trust US on this issue as far as I can throw bob menendez.

How anyone that corrupt becomes senate foreign relations chair is indicative of democrat party in general.

Something likely gets salted later if it goes through, I guess lets see. TR would be wise to arrange alternative options front and centre instead.

I think getting EF 2nd hand from RAF would be okay. I think we talked about it some time ago, and if the specs of T1 are somewhat similar to what is written on wiki we could use them instead of our F-4. Though they’re a bit pricey.

but they would be our first twin engine jet.

Eurofighter effect. The US probably took a step to stalling this purchase. If Turkiye is left without an alternative, there will be a change of decision at the last minute, again. The F-35 is a historical lesson for the Turkish state, if the same mistake is repeated only 3-5 years apart, I leave it to your commendation that how can be describe situation.

So instead of working on two alternative plans in parallel, we should combine the two alternative plans into one. Thus, if one of the processes is interrupted, the other part of the plan will be able to meet the urgent need without wasting time. In fact, it is necessary to combine the two alternative plans and keep the third(non-NATO) in parallel.

For example:
  • Start of Block-30s 'expanded' Özgür and Murad modernization program.
  • Start of modernization Block-40s and 50+ to Block-70 Viper level.
  • Grant of T1 EFs for sale in the UK air force, with national A-A weapons and AESA radar requirement, within the framework of a joint modernization plan with the UK.
  • Order of 40 new EF T4s (Instead of the new order F-16 B70s).

We should buy Euro fighters no matter what. Especially if we can get their softwares to install our own missiles.
If we can get block 70s too, it would be great to increase our fleet. Old f-16s can be sold to other countries after we start to induct our MMUs.
