Our SOM-J cruise missile, developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, successfully hit the target in the first test firing against a surface platform.

Damn they even blurred out the serial number of the aircraft from the looks of it, it might be a Block 50+ somehow or possibly an Ozgur aircraft, also I think re-start of tests for the SOM-J could mean something as you guys know these missiles were made to be used in the F35s and this sudden re-appreance of SOM-J might mean there is hope.

It is good to see finally, the tests are being performed for our “only” air launched stealth construction cruise missile that can hit moving sea targets.
The heavy manoeuvring executed, shows that it has good and effective data link to course-correct whilst in flight.
I hope we will see the SOM-C, doing the same soon.
SOM-J has undergone a lot of updates and new developments since the first version that was being integrated to our, never realised F35 jets. The range is no longer what it used to be. It is stated as 275km now. Heavy usage of composite materials have made it lighter. New domestic turbojet engine is used to propel it.
