USA and Turkey will begin technical talks on F-35.

-Al Monitor
Greatest mistake ever IMO
Turkey should really abondon the idea of buying the F35s and instead concentrate on KAAN with some Typhoons as a stopgap measure

The money spent on F35s can be better spent on the KAAN prongram instead

UBAS (Aircraft Independent Firing System)

was also integrated as a plug and play solution to Azerbaijani SU-25s, giving capability to use modern munitions such as SOM.

I hope we can actively export this solution especially for Soviet/Russian origin aircraft. It can be a boost to munition sales.

British Eurofighter retirements give us a new clue.

Of 49 Typhoon T1s,

4 remain in active service.
10 are set aside as spare-part aircraft for T2/T3s.
29 are to be disposed of.
4 will be used for ground training aids.

And 2 are being considered for sale.

Those two should be the ones we will get for training purposes.

One reason why we want to purchase F-35 was, the share of work, of estimated $ 14 billion for our industry. Now, after more and more countries will cancel or reduce the number of F-35, we will never get that estimated income of $ 14 billion.

No single country reduced or cancelled their orders yet.

We could still get share of work without purchasing F-35s.

we will never get that estimated income of $ 14 billion
Presumably we will never get anything as I really doubt Turkey returning to the program as a manufacturer is in the cards at all at this stage.

Wrong.
We could still get share of work without purchasing
of course, with less income for our industry.

Wrong.

Agree.
Did you read the article you linked? Nobody cancelled anything, there is just talk about "reconsidering" and "getting cold feet" and the article is almost a month old and nobody officially cancelled anything in the meantime. Before proclaiming someone is wrong, at least read your supposed proof.

It is very likely that some countries will reduce or cancel the F-35 deal.

After a „month ago“ , Trump starts an economical war against his allies. Most are F-35 users.

„Pistorius apparently skeptical

However, some user states of the F-35 have recently expressed themselves very critically about the jet. Denmark's former defense minister, for example, said in retrospect that he regretted the decision for the American plane. Similar voices were heard from Canada and Portugal. And the German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius (SPD) is now also considered a skeptic.“

If you're going to retort a point, please do read the thing you send as a reply first. I did actually read that 2 weeks ago so I do know that it doesn't actually say what you think it says. It's a nothingburger "US should cancel the F-35" piece like hundreds of others in the last 20 years.

Back to my original point, so far no country have cancelled their F-35 orders. Portugal didn't place an order in the first place. Canada might go the cancellation route in the next few months, but I very much doubt they will. So the only country that actually have a "cancelled" F-35 order is still Turkey. And on the contrary we would like to reorder them per officials.

Pistorius apparently skeptical
"Speaking to German media, Pistorious said The United States is and will remain an important ally for us – also for the Bundeswehr’s equipment. This applies not only to the F-35, but also to our other projects”

Denmark also. They said they will keep going with F-35s.

No one is going to cancel their F-35 orders. It is the best plane on the planet and Trump is there for 4 years the F-35 will serve those countries for decades.
And yes it is the best plane on the planet currently by a wide margin.

Europe right now has nothing that comes close to the F-35 even with all its problems until one of the "6th" gen projects actually yields results. All these "cancel" reports were nothingburgers which were denied very fast.

----------------------------------------------

Also my theory is that if we return to the project the number of F-35 that will find its way into the inventory of the Turkish Air Force will exceed 40. We will see pressure taken off Kaan and it actually getting the time it needs to refine everything about it.

Would not surpise me if in the end (2030s) the number of F-35 we have on hand is between 60-80.

European will spend billions of € in Defense, not to make Trump richer. And who think, the current US administration is a current problem in the foreign relations, has absolutely no clue about the US foreign policy changes. There is a economically issue and a safety concern of purchasing F-35. Trump starts an economical war against EU. The worthless speaking „We are still best friends and allies“ are just for show.

Honestly people acting like Trump will fix america like some mastermind with some deep state support or whatever. He will act like most idiots and ruin US, there are some valid points some people raise about current establishment in US, but this guy is not an answer to any of it and giving such power to such unstable people will bring terrible days for everyone in the world. Buckle up for a dark era

Denmark has became aware of the problems of having F-35, and the potential of being left without a fighterjets

But as Denmark is a small country the number of fighterjets are not that big, and Denmark has allies in Scandinavia and Europe that will help it if needed.

So the F-35 are nice and need to have, but I think F16 block 70 could have done the job as well.

With regards to how to solve the Greenland issue, I don't think Denmark can do anything other than beef up troops on the ground in Greenland to uphold the laws. fighter jets aren't going to be making a difference in Greenland tbh.

The country is too small to be a true threat to anyone, so US demanding Greenland is because of greed and resources. As the treaty from back in 50's allows US to build 1000000 of bases in Greenland if they want, without asking for permission.

But I think EU countries would do well in diversifying their air force to avoid having to rely solely on F-35.
