ILGAR, which will take its place among technologies that will provide superiority in the electromagnetic spectrum, will enable surprise attacks and uninterrupted control. Named after "rapid and sudden attack," ILGAR was developed to apply Electronic Warfare (EW) to target communication systems operating in the V/UHF and SHF (partial) frequency bands on different platforms. The system is used to provide a tactical advantage to friendly forces in the field by disrupting, delaying, or causing the transmission of false information in target frequency band communications.
Ahmet Akyol stated that the ILGAR system was developed to detect and disrupt communications between enemy aircraft and ground elements, adding, "Our ILGAR and KORAL air defense products are being exhibited here for the first time in a state ready for mass production. These systems constitute the electronic warfare layer of ÇELİKKUBBE and demonstrate the level we have reached in the field of electronic warfare in line with the vision set for us by the Turkish Armed Forces."
The system's critical features include reactive jamming against frequency-hopping signals, infrastructure for protecting friendly radio frequencies, electronic support for jamming, signal direction estimation and location finding, and electronic warfare capabilities while in motion.
KORAL, a game-changer in air defense, stands out as a ground-based mobile radar electronic warfare system that incorporates both electronic support and electronic warfare subsystems on the same platform. The system reduces the coverage areas of detected air and ground radars while applying electronic warfare in the form of deception or jamming for specific periods. With its capabilities, KORAL detects and identifies the radars of threat air and ground platforms it will target with electronic warfare, creating its own broadcast list with identification and detailed detection functions.
Ahmet Akyol stated that the air defense version of KORAL is a completely new system, capable of detecting enemy aircraft radars from hundreds of kilometers away, performing precise tracking, and making attacks more difficult by jamming or deceiving nose radars. Akyol said, "This is truly one of the few products in the world that can perform this activity over a range of hundreds of kilometers. I would like to announce here that we have now moved into the production phase."
