I don't believe this. It doesn't make any sense.

How reliable is this site`?

Maybe @Anmdt knows more.
I lost it at;

'Savunma kaynaklarindan alinan bilgi'

and

'DM2A4 and Sub Harpoon'.

The author has zero knowledge on how hard Navy works to master AKYA torpedoe and Sub-Atmaca, and intends to make these two and later others as striking force of submarine flotilla (and i don't need to emphasize integration of SEDA, Advent, etc.).

Use your common sense dear fellows, in bilateral meetings these things are spoken, then shifted to technical committees where its realized (and mostly it does not). But Spaniards are seen as one likely partner in Milden's detail design process.

I could've understood this, if S-80 was something groundbreaking with features we haven't seen or mastered yet. Maybe I'm missing something because it doesn't even seem like it has any of those. No doubt we've talked about TCG Trakya, but it'd be surprising if we went ahead with something like S-80 while we are so far into the MİLDEN project.

Same was said about the possible T26 transfer and everyone first thought it was just bad journalism. Turns out, the offer was pretty real in itself.

people should learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to Turkey i think. Let’s wait few days to see anything real comes up.

We all know what Navy wants and S80 may not fit it to well unless Spaniards coming with all cards turned over with ToT and IP rights and to conduct any modification that TN may desire. It is simple, in long shot they desire to have all major components develop and made locally. (Periscope, permasync, sonar suite, CMS suite, comms, sensors and AIP - future Li-Ion.

Several companies attempted to infiltrate and influence decision makers prior to realization of Milgem by making offers (through such bilateral meetings held by higher ups) and forcing them to launch a tender and join with local partners. It is failed.

They attempted to make the same for I-Class, failed.

They also attempted the same with TF-2000, so far, failed.

And now Milden, it is failed or will fail. They will somehow notice that the most they are getting out of these projects are either being a subcontractor or component supplier.

Also this is truly an example of bad journalism where it lacks a reference to true mindset of TN by not referring to indigenous projects.

Navantia haven't been able to find an export customer for the S80. It has a big overlap of capabilities with our Milden. We want to go fully domestic but the timeframes we are looking at might make a cooperation beneficial. If we can speed up domestic development it would be the best.

Working with Navantia on MILDEN and MILGEM just goes against the purpose of the project. We already have Reis class being built. MILDEN is not just about acquiring good submarines it is a project to acquire indigenous submarine building capacity with our knowledge from previous projects.

When will you get the VLS capability in the Navy when we go fully domestic as opposed to a Navantia cooperation. If we can wait then no problem, if we can speed up domestic development again no problem but if we will get that capability 5 years later than when we can actually get it then we may be having a problem as our defence requirements may shift switftly for the more capable.

I think this could be the opportunity we've been looking for.
This could be an interesting partnership. Per Dzkk needs, we are currently set to have 8 P72s and and 6 P235s in MPA role. As well as about 25 UCAVs. Meltem 3 program was downsized about 10 years ago to include 2 GP variants so there should be 8 total instead of 10. Both aircraft are also set to receive new Aselsan EOs.

If the fıture goal is set to have a bigger navy with a more extending footprint, faster, larger platforms with more loiter time will be a necessity. E190 could be a good platform for this. Everyone knows I like the Pakistani Sea Sultans a lot anyhow.

A new MPA on the E2 platform with its much more efficient newer engines would bring out a more potent solution then Sea Sultan. With Aselsan and TAI being much more experienced now than 10 years ago with Meltem blunders, this could be a way to get into this business and even turn a profit.

Navy wants LRMPA. The question is which route they are going to take. A couple years ago there were talks about a NATO MPA project which Türkiye signed on as a partner but I think that is dead in the water with Germany buying P-8s and France seemlingly going its own way(Either A320neo based or Falcon 10X).

I think was supposed to be based on the A320 family.

As we know they are only three or four options imo on the market that would make one of which will never be sold(P-8) to us and the other only being used by one other country (P-1). Leaving us with only two viable options.

1. We go the Pakistan route ala Sea Sultan
2. Navy buys second hand aircrafts (A320/737) from THY and has Aselsan and TAI turn them into MPA for them. With this option I don't know if we would need approval from the manufacturer in the first place.

Nevertheless we need LRMPA to be able to cover our EEZ efficiently.

BTW THY just couple days ago signed up to buy 345 Airbus aircrafts. Things like these need to be used by the government to our advantage.

I apologize to the forum, but if the package of 250 planes does not include astronomical increases in the business share of Turkish aviation companies, and even more so, the location of one of the final assembly production facilities in TR, then it is a big idiocy.

We are building an airplane factory in Kayseri. We are trying to resurrect TOMTAŞ from its ashes. This was an opportunity.

Regarding Embraer: It could have been a much more strategic investment to acquire the under-license production rights of Lineage 1000, which production line was closed in 2020, and move it to the newly establishing factory in Kayseri with the support of the Foundation companies.

In the long-range MPA project, Pakistan's Sea Sultan project involves the procurement and conversion of second-hand Lineage 1000s. In other words, by starting from the basis of this project and starting with the integration of our ready-made systems in this field, especially Aselsan and Havelsan, we can gradually gain a factory that can develop naval aircraft of a much more strategic nature. Tusaş as the structural and test infrastructure, and Aselsan as the avionics and system integration can provide the production line very quickly.

One way or another, we have to expand towards civil/military dual-use mid-fuselage aircraft to prevent our air industry from becoming bogged down at some point. It is very important to produce high quality state-of-the-art systems, but we must also utilize of this infrastructure to generate huge revenues.

It's not an "AWACS", it's a maritime patrol plane and they do carry torpedoes or anti-ship missiles if necessary, including CN-235s we have in our inventory.

As President Erdogan said second LHD that will be designed as a drone mothership is a go.
The Navy wants additional OPVs. The OPV requirement involves a total of 10 Hisar class OPVs but those might be ordered in batches the first batch of 2 vessels are in construction second batch might be 4 additional vessels. The third batch might also have 4 additional OPVs etc or the remaining 8 might be ordered as a single batch.
The Navy conveyed the need for additional frigates, new FACs, and USVs to the government. It won't be a surprise if some plans are announced regarding those needs.

I think the best solution will be to upgrade the Ada Class, use them as frigates, and fill the gap with the up-armed version of Hisar Class OPVs as corvettes. It will be a cost-effective solution.

BTW delivery of the first Reis class submarine delayed, again, to February 2024. I hope we can get at least the first 2 Reis subs without a problem. Germans are showing signs to go full retard mode.

The construction of three I-Class ships is going on as scheduled. Along with the program 6th ship’s first block now in position on the slipway.
Within 36 months next 3 ships will be ready for delivery to TN.
