As I heard they are OK for a second hand Tranche 1 and Tranche 3 sale. If Brits want to sell us these jets they can convince Germans.

Tranche 1 Eurofighters would be useless for Turkiye. Like @Agha Sher said it’s better for Turkiye to keep the money and wait for MIUS and TAI’s futur stealth drone.

SSB should immediately launch a tender for 60-80 new fighters that should be open to all including Chinese and Russian manufacturers. Let's see who will show up and proceed accordingly.

Not the best of times to start such a move. If we’re making progress on BAE under the radar it’d be screwing that up as well. EJ 200 for Hurjet and lets order 100 of them with 200 in local productiin

No Chinese or Russian junk are welcome in TuAF. TuAF thinks the same.

Calm down your emotions, there is no point ordering now when it will come 2027 earliest. I agree with nutuk that we need to just focus on our projects and forget about buying from somewhere else. İn 2027 we will have light armed hurjet and kizilelma block b.

İf there is such a hurry then the government should focus on putting more resources in projects instead of wasting the money for new fighters.

İnviting to bid for tender is not selecting the fighter. We have to see which western company or companies show up for our fighter tender and act accordingly. BTW It is TurAF, not TuAF. Let's see how willing the Eurofighter consortium or SAAB are to bid on our fighter tender.

60-80 new fighters is more than enough to buy France . Add Rafale to the list as well! joke aside....

second hand Tranche 3 is a realistic option. the problem would be the long term suppy of the spare parts

F 16 deal is not totally dead yet.

As far as I know, Hurjet was designed with the GE F404 in mind and not the EJ200. Wouldnt buying the EJ200 initiate new designing phase which will prolong the Hurjet acquisition program?

We should invite all of the fighter producers in the world including Dassault and also the American companies. We can disqualify American companies in the first phase due to not satisfying the terms of the tender. Let's put somewhere between 6-10 billion on the table and see what happens. Let's see which companies show up and forward their offers for the tender. Let's see what their offers include. If none of them satisfy our terms we can cancel the tender. It will be a good way to gather information and see their attitude against us.

Regardless of this, we should upgrade our F-16s on our own.

It is known that at the very beginning, the Greek lobby set out to "ban the sale of f16 to Turkey". The name of the campaign they funded was presented with the title "NoJetforTurkey" and they prepared videos with lies. Later, some factors eroded their intention to use the American system to serve Greek interests rather than US interests and the bills were watered down in the background, and as a result, they were reduced to 2 articles in final. In the last form, after the 1st proposal was cancelled/rejected, the second proposal was put to the vote on a two-condition basis, and even in this situation, it was subjected to the no vote of 179 members. In fact, this issue has been a decisive example in terms of reflecting the real intention of the USA regarding the sale of the F16.

The precondition of "serving American interests" (as if sales serve for Greek interests before this amendment) in the bill is not a new practice. The US system ask this for all sales in the permit process. In the second condition, I think the US authorities will either cancel because it will create a situation contrary to their own internal regulations or they will not listen to Greece's cries of violation of airspace in practice because the US accepts that Greece's airspace (10 miles) is against international law. In this context, the concerns of Greece will not make any sense in this condition as well.

With these joke conditions, the mouth of the crying Greek lobbies was closed. After that, preparations for the approval process for F16V will begin. In fact, Turkey's request for the F16V was determined by the Turkish-American joint committee and emerged as a solution to resolve the issues regarding the F35. At the moment, Greece is trying every way including provocations by violating Turkish Airspace before Mitos's US trip to create a condition for crying to prevent the US's rapprochement with Turkiye.

Greeks are slyly waiting to turn every crisis into an opportunity so Turkiye shouldn't give these arrogant Greek politicians this opportunity. Greece knows very well what it would mean for Turkiye when they used US to serve Greek interests so they are trying to achieve many successes with throwing just one single stone by using their lobby and protection agreement. Greece also predicts which league Turkiye will be in 10 years from now so they feel totally insecure because of their hostile behaviors against Turks so they put themselves at the center of Western values and dont want even a bolt to be sold to Turkiye which stands against their expansionist and unlawful claims. The projects they aim to stop are as follows.

  • We will have one of the most efficient and modern F16 fleet + Radar + BVR combo in this geography with 80 upgraded F16V and 40 F16V as well as F16+Murad AESA radars. If they can't stop this sale, Rafale planes which they attach too much meaning for the air superiority tales they dream of will become meaningless.
  • Tusaş have signed a contract for 80 F404 engines from the GM. These engines will power our Hurjet aircrafts
  • The first batch of F110 engines for TFX prototypes was delivered to Tusaş. We know that not only prototypes but also a certain number of TFX Blk1 aircraft will be produced with F110 engines. For example, if we assume that 40 TFX block-1 were produced with F110, this again shows that 80 F110 and spare parts should be procured.

These are the most critical projects of the Turkish aviation industry and the projects that will hurt enemy the most in their active duty. Obviously, since Greece does not have the courage to deal with Turkiye one by one, it try to develops a policy to turn its own problems into a US or EU problems with insidious plans and tries to confront us with US and EU in the Aegean and East Med for their maximalist agenda. At this stage, they can even unilaterally increase the territorial water in the Aegean to 12 miles in order to provoke Turkiye and confront Turkiye with West. In this way, they will try to both slow down these strategic projects and steal our sea areas without dropping any sweat. In this regard, it is necessary not to give an opportunity to a nation like Greece which has made it a policy to be in hostile stances against Turkiye in all field.

We should be a little more patient and explain our arguments more clearly to the World and not allow the Greeks to play the false victim and thus gain sympathy. If there is going to be a war, it should happen at the time we determine and under the conditions we want.

Yes depending on the report Baykar might be sanctioned and components of TB2 that have US technology(if there is any at the moment) might be embargoed.

The most critical component US can ambargoe on is the VIASAT Enerlinks III LOS video communications system. NETA or ERA comms localised it afaik but there is still a huge chance of Baykar still using VİASAT product.

Very likely that Biden is gonna overrule and have the F-16s delivered anyway but yeah, disappointing.

Every day I agree more and more with Ilhan Omar's old statement that lobbying in the US should be banned. Anti-Turkish interests in the US would lose their power virtually overnight.
"Very likely that Biden is gonna overrule "
Why he should?
When Biden OPENLY said that he is Against Turkiye and Erdogan
This is Perfect excuse for Biden to stretch........................F-16 deliver to many years (mean NOTHING for Turkiye)
