2 ORKA torpedo or ÇAKIR missiles / Equivalent weight bombs
ESM, SAR/GMTI-ISAR, EO/IR,
Built-in/Internal sonobuoy launcher/room,
Airborne magnetometry (MAD),
SATCOM, CDL antennas, MWS, expendable countermeasures etc. And some more other of internal avionics and may be CMS. I think even if all these are optimized and well-packaged payloads for the UAV, a lifting capacity of around 2 tons is required.


TAI is a very experienced company in both MPA system integration and UAV development. If the lifting capacity of AKSUNGUR can be increased above 1.5 tons with turboprop engines, we may see the world's first all-in-go unmanned MPA aircraft concept. Or a long-range and very high endurance unmanned maritime patrol concept consisting of two aircraft, one at ordnance drop altitude and the other at high altitude.
You simply get an Akıncı by doing those modifications to Aksungur, then what is the point.

The only change is engine, shouldn't be really big issue. Why not? Navy already using Aksungur, isn't it better to continue with same type of UAV instead of introducing another one?

Turboprops will burn fuel fast and will decimate endurance. The airframe is made for half the payload. You need to change many things to make it carry the increased airframe weight and payload weight and possibly fuel weigh to maintain a respectable endurance. Maybe they can hit a balance somewhere to get to what Akıncı can already do now. Akıncı is a Turkish made plane, its logistics should not be problem.

Earlier plan was to operate Akıncı-Aksungur together, Akıncı carries the weapons, Aksungur carries the sensors. However Navy wanted to operate MS500 (Akıncı-C) version to withstand harsh weather conditions and with a bigger payload.

I am not sure if this was a confusion of drones, where Aksungur is mentioned in place of Akınıcı or Navy has changed their idea and intrigued by integration of the Advent ROTA / MARTI on the Aksungur along with sonobuoy processing unit etc. Sooner or later Baykar will have to integrate Advent on drones which they are supplying to TN. TN's red line is the integration.

In the end we will have this formation;

Manned MPA, in safe zone
Uplinked patrol MPA-UAV equipped with sensors, sonobuoy receivers and TDL relay and possibly with limited number of Sonobuoys
Uplinked, Depending on mission, an UAV dedicated to carry high amount of Sonobuoys.
Uplinked assault UAV equipped with Atmaca, SOM-J, SOM-C, Çakır, Winged ORKA or winged lighter Torpedo.

Doesn't matter whether Aksungur TP or Akıncı-C.

This is only the aerial scenery. These UAVs will be also accessible by assets of TN and every ship will have a team of UAV-USV specialist.

A shame really. They could have added a turboprop in their portfolio. Maybe they don’t have enough ressources ?

Also hürkuş C would have PT 6 motor embargo from Canada,at least to export some countries they do not want like Azerbaycan

How do we know nothing happened?

They are probably waiting until they complete TS1400 development. They have already started work of the military version of TS1400. TF6000 work kicked in. A turboshaft version is a smaller business. They can somehow still source PT6 engines. TS1400 turbine blades have been domesticized but the alloy used to make it has not. Probably once the demand for a PT6 equivalent surge they will come up with their product, 3 years.

Probalby meant all its tests including carrier based tests because Mr.Demir stated that Tb-3 would be in Anadolu by 2023.

Baykar usually shares the progress of their products from early on like they've done with the TB-2, Akinci, Cezeri, and kizilelma but until now nothing but a few CGIs depicting the TB-3.
I kept wondering why that is, is it because they've started but they're getting nowhere atm? or do they have orders to keep it confidential?

May be it will be an Anka(use its engine) with short take of but also short hours flying. I really wish they dont start selling tb3 more than Anka. Of course, pure imagination talks
