Lol, do you think nobody thought of something like that before? Or did they revealed the formula?
It has certain limitations to he practical though, we are speaking of a coating to be applied on aircrafts or small drones.

It has to have a low density - ✓
It has to be usable for thin-film applications NA
It has to demonstrate those capabilities below a certain thickness NA
It has to provide an insulation and not conduct the contained heat to the inner fuselage NA

I am excluding mechanical properties so far.

To add, the team that created the thing says they haven’t tested it against lasers yet and in everything they published, using it on drones is not mentioned. It’s a third party twitter channel claiming it could be used as a coating against lasers on drones. This might or might not be, but a highly heat resistant, cheap to build in bulk and light material have much bigger use cases in multiple fields. Drone self defence is not even at top ten. Hope more info comes out.

Completely agreed, but the media approach shows how Turkish mind works: "Can we put it on a drone?"

Apart from X and Facebook, we have no other sources.
If I didn't know better.... this is a Fake, the Mods should maybe block the X and Facebook Message in general if it doesn't come from an official source e.g. from the University of Malaya in X or Facebook Account.

Otherwise, the source is like a lukewarm fart on a hot summer night.

But I don't want to deny the poster of this message his seriousness, because he did it in good will.

One of my concerns is resistance to shear stress as skin is the primary component holding it. They state that the brittleness isn't awful like aerogel (Watch a few on YouTube if you don't know) which is similarly lightweight and highly insulating. I'm sure their next stop will be processability for complex shapes and structural tests with an application.

(About alternative uses and structual concerns)
They are material engineers or chemists, when it comes to mechanics there are more concerns than brittleness and density of the material. This likely might have a better use in reentry vehicles than aerospace structures. See how unechoic tiles on submarines keep falling off after a simple voyage with no deep water visits.

But it is a good developmeny nonetheless, there are many other sectors which may benefit from this before the aerospace industry. Falls irrelevant to this thread imo.

AI-9500F.

Motorun 62 kN -> 93 kN arasında itme gücü sağlaması bekleniyor.

Gelecekteki Endeavors için potansiyel taşıyabilir.

I know this is only the second version of the prototype, but why is the rear end so messy?
The rear engine area looks like a tube, why did they fit it so messily?
They could have done better, maybe lower the engine a bit from the height of the position.

Dude it's more of a prototype
will be more perfect in mass production
