I Wonder how many Kızılelma's will br in the first delivery? It was first announced as first quarter of 2026 then moved to second half and we have seen 2 Serial production Kızılelma's flying plus 3-4 in production so 5 could be a reasonable number I guess

It had been announced that Baykar and LBA Systems, a subsidiary of the Italian defense company Leonardo, would conduct various tests with the Leonardo M-346F Block 20 aircraft and 2 Bayraktar KIZILELMA Unmanned Fighter Aircraft.

A flight of an M-346 aircraft was observed in Turkish airspace.

They don't keep us waiting too long, thankfully. Hürjet will get the same treatment when it is ready. Let's see what doors this can open both for capabilities and for user base.

While it's good news I am saddened that this test isn't done with Hürjet.

Maybe there is a strategic reason for it. who knows.

Well the second prototype looked to be suitable with a bigger nose(radar) and pylons but if you ask me when the first weapons test will be then i have no answer.

The answer is easy Hürjet has 80% of the capabilities of an F16 as declared by officials. Actually I had said this as my opinion even before the officials.

Their trainer is in serial production and in use with three airforces. Block 20 version that is being used for testing with KE, is a Light Combat version.

It is still a question mark if we will have a LCA Hurjet during initial production runs.
But before LCA Hurjet we need to build enough trainers first with LRIP then with full scale production for ourselves and the Spanish order. Then a test aircraft like the Italian one can be built.

i think there will be one or two LCA for testing around 2030 and since navy wants its own naval variant it would make sense for the air force as a replacement for the F16 starting from the 2035

Hürjet cannot replace F-16, it has less than half of its payload and cannot really carry heavier loads. I highly doubt any of its hardpoints can carry MK84, which weighs as much as almost third of its total weapon payload capacity.

All F-16s will undergo Özgür and the structural upgrade. None will be retired from 2035.

IMHO, the size of the Air Force's combat fleet should be large enough to avoid ceding air superiority in contested theaters to the opposing side while fighting on two fronts(you know which fronts) simultaneously. Therefore, we need all types of combatant jets: F-16s, EFs, KAANs, even Hurjets... On the unmanned side, if TEI can successfully bring the TF6000/10000 project to mass production, then with the Kızılelma variants and Anka variants, as whole picture we need to create not only qualitative parity but also quantitative superiority, even in a 1:2 situation. Not only these, also saturation/RF decoy/jaming drones in hundreds like Super Şimşeks... Things are heating up, and the Air Force, in particular, needs to take significant steps in both training and procurement planning. Without underestimating any local capacity, I believe we need everything. Everything we can use!

I guess that would be Akıncı with Fulmar 500, Antidot 2 electronic support pod to listen for radar and Aselflir-600 from the current stock and whatever Aselsan might come up with later on.

To me Fulmar 500 is optimized for Air-to-Ground operations. Air-to-Air is listed but they don't emphasize it much.

So Anka 3 will now be able to carry 1600kg, they also increased the wingspan and the length. Hopefully that extra meter of length means they're finally covering the nozzle.
