What Russia is doing in Mariupol and other occupied territories in the South and East of Ukraine cannot ba replicated in the rest of Ukraine, because the population is very different. In Mariupol, a lot of the local population was pro-Russia, so they can be trained and enlisted to fight for Russia.

But in a city like Kyiv, even if the Russians would manage to take it, the population would be rebelious and impossible to use in the army. It is like saying that Israel could enlarge its army by conquering Gaza and enlisting Palestinians.

UNITED STATES HOUSE

ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE

STATEMENT OF

GENERAL CHRISTOPHER G.CAVOLI,
UNITED STATES ARMY

UNITEDSTATESEUROPEANCOMMAND
10APRIL2024

During this conflict Russia’s strategic forces, long range aviation, cyber
capabilities, space capabilities, and capabilities in the electromagnetic spectrum have lost no capacity at all.

The air force has lost some aircraft, but only about 10% of their fleet.
The navy has suffered significantly in the Black Sea – but nowhere else and Russian naval activity worldwide is at a significant peak.
Russian long range precision fires have increased in production, and Russia has also begun to buy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and long-range drones from third countries who were previously outside this fight.

In fact, it is mainly only in the land forces that Russia has suffered, losing over 2,000 tanks and 315,000 soldiers wounded or dead.
However, Russia is reconstituting that force far faster than our initial estimates suggested.
The army is actually now larger – by 15 percent – than it was when it invaded Ukraine. Over the past year, Russia increased its front line troop strength from 360,000 to 470,000.

Russia’s army increased the upper age limit for conscription from 27 to 30, which increases the pool of available military conscripts by 2 million for years to come.

Russia has announced plans to pursue an ambitious ground forces restructure, increasing to 1.5 million
personnel with an expanded footprint.

This restructure includes plans to transform seven motorized rifle brigades into divisions and a new army corps.

Russia plans to base some of these new formations in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, as well as Karelia in the High North, opposite Finland. Perhaps most concerning, the Russian military in the past year has shown an accelerating ability to learn and adapt to battlefield challenges both tactically and technologically, and has become a learning organization that little resembles the chaotic force that invaded Ukraine two years ago.

Fair enough. I'll no longer put Romania in the list of future profiteers of the Ukraine war.

As for Poland, I wanna hear it from poles themselves that they don't want Lvov to come back to the motherland
Of course we dont want Lvow.
Yes it WAS one of the more important polish cities but that time had passed. There is no polish people there for the last 80 years, they were killed or expelled by Banderas (Ukrainian hero, murderer and criminal for us) and Stalin. We effectively replace Lvow for Wrocław and there is no going back.
And I can tell you there is no talk between people on the streets "we want that city" People who thought it is their land are long dead and all those maps with Poland with "new" borders are just stupid russian propaganda.

Russians just think others wants territory as much as they do.
But why? What would Poland gain by taking Lwów now?

@Relic You got alot of explaining to do on your numerical estimates of losses sources.
1712930854538.png

I think you guys should just stick to celebrating Russians ships or military assets getting blown up on this war than giving numbers because your own guy Yuriy Sodol fucked it up for you guys. 7 or 10 divided by 617,000 or if I want to play along with you guys that their are russian meat waves than 575,000-600,000. This also explains why Zelensky wants to pull 500,000 out of his ass with the mobilization laws. Right now I dont know how good the AFU is in recruiting random civilians to try to equal the Russian number in a given time frame. The purpose of this war is just to try to inflict as much losses to Russia than it is Ukraine winning the war in case you think those millions and billions being spent on Ukraine is because they believe in a Ukrainian victory lol.

Most of all of Ukraine's units are in the frontline. If we assume 500k UA soldiers at the front, he claims anywhere between 3,5m-5m RU soldiers in Ukraine despite the hundreds of thousands of KIA they constantly brag about. Keep your stories together Kiev.

The Nethlerlands 🇳🇱 have announced that on top of the additional $400 million Euros worth of financial aid that they are giving Ukraine in 2024, that they are upping the military aid that they will send Ukraine as well. Instead of the 2 Billion Euros worth of military aid that the Dutch had promised previously in 2024, they are now upping their contribution to 3 Billion Euros. They will also match that 3 Billion Euro contribution in 2025 according to Prime Minister Rutte.

Eastern front has significantly worsened

Russia may go on the offensive on four fronts this summer, - FT

Russia may go on the offensive on four front directions at once

Russia plans to seize more territories of Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporozhye regions

Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that the situation on the eastern front line has “significantly worsened” and the Ukrainian army is struggling to stop the multilateral and intensifying Russian offensive. At the same time, as the Financial Times reports, citing Ukrainian and Western officials, Russian troops may be planning to attack in four directions at once in the summer.

“Russia may be preparing for a large-scale attack in late spring or summer in hopes of capturing more territory in the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporozhye regions... Officials in Kyiv are also concerned that Moscow may be planning an attack on Kharkov, Ukraine's second-largest city in the north. -east,” the publication writes.

It is noted that Russia's main efforts are concentrated around the town of Chasov Yar, which is located just 15 km west of Bakhmut.

"This will likely be an important battle. Chasov Yar is located on a defensible high ground. If Russia takes the city, they could potentially increase the speed of their advance deeper into the Donetsk region as part of an expected summer offensive," said Rob Lee, a senior fellow at the Institute for Studies' Eurasia Program. foreign policy.

He said that "an immediate increase in ammunition supplies could be critical" for Ukrainian forces.

Syrsky spoke about the situation at the front
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that the situation on the Eastern Front has recently worsened significantly. According to him, this is due to a significant intensification of the enemy’s offensive actions after the so-called presidential elections in Russia.

Sirsky said that the enemy is actively attacking the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Pokrovsky directions with assault groups supported by dozens of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. This is facilitated by warm, dry weather, which made most of the open areas passable.

Germany 🇩🇪 has agreed to immediately send another Patriot Missile Battery to Ukraine. It will be the 4th such battery to be delivered to Ukraine, the 3rd by Germany. This is unlikely to be a battery from Germany's own inventory, rather, a system that a 3rd party country is quietly transferring through Germany, to be reimbursed.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 will have 5 batteries of tier 1 air defense, including 4 Patriot batteries and a SAMP/T battery. In total Germany is trying to find 3 additional Patriot Batteries and 1 additional SAMP/T battery. Ukraine has reached out to Germany 🇩🇪, Poland 🇵🇱, Romania 🇷🇴, Spain 🇪🇸 and USA 🇺🇸 in an attempt to get additional Patriots delivered.

Ukraine has long stated that their goal is to have the following.

Kyiv: 2 Patriot Batteries
Odessa: 1 Patriot Battery
Kharkiv: 1 Patriot Battery
Lviv: 1 SAMP/T Battery
Dnipro: 1 SAMP/T Battery
Mobile Batteries: 3 Patriot Batteries to be used across the front.

At this point in the war Ukraine 🇺🇦 has demonstrated the ability to use a plethora of Tier 2 and Tier 3 air defense systems to mitigate the damage being done by Russian drone attacks. They haven't neutralized those attacks entirely, but they've greatly reduced their effectiveness. What they, desperately, however, is the increased capacity to shoot down Russian cruise / ballistic missiles at a higher rate. Furthermore, they would like the flexibility to have mobile, long range units, that can help protect the front from Russian aircraft getting inside range to wreak having with glide bombs.

Rare, high-quality footage of drone air battles in Ukraine, filmed with an external camera, has been published. The video shows two attacks by Russian FPV drones on Ukrainian drones. The drone models are unknown, and the location and date of the attacks have not been reported.

I'm actually pumped about Iran retaliating because it's likely the catalyst that gets the U.S. supplemental aid package for Ukraine / Israel passed quickly.

That means tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of Russian families that will send their loved ones to Ukraine and have their lives shattered when they come back in a bodybag or an urn.

I'd love to pay a couple extra percent in taxes if the money is spent on weapons further destroying Russia's conventional army and throwing their young men in the wood chipper.
