During her visit to Kyiv today, EU President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the EU will loan $39 Billion usd to Ukraine. The loan will be paid back using proceeds from frozen Russian assets. Canada , USA , Britain , Japan will loan the remainder of the money that makes of the $50 Billion usd loan.

Per von der Leyen the $39 Billion usd from the EU will be spent on the following:

- Weapons purchased from the EU
- Ukraine's domestic weapons production
- Ukrainian Energy infrastructure
- Bomb shelters for civilians

Per the agreement 90% of the money is to be spent on military needs, while 10% is earmarked for humanitarian purposes.

USA is set to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine on Monday, valued at approximately $375 million usd. Of note, the package will include a new medium range weapon to be used with Ukrainian F-16s.

USA will send Ukraine medium range AIM-154 Joint Standoff Weapons (JSOW) which have a range of approximately 110km. These guided glide bombs are extremely accurate and significantly out range the glide bombs that Russia has been using by approximately 40km. JSOW will give Ukraine another significant air to ground weapon that greatly outranges JDAMs and AASMs, keeping Ukraine's F-16s out of the range of Russia's air defense systems near the front.

It's widely believed that JSOW is a stepping stone towards Ukraine's ultimate goal of getting USA to send long range JASSM cruise missiles for Ukraine's F-16s.

Ukraine struck another significant ammo depot in Russia tonight, this time in Tikhoretsk, Krasnodar Krai.

Importantly, this was the ammo depot that Russia most commonly used to supply munitions procured from North Korea, including artillery shells and missiles.

So much extreme potential yet completely incompetent, increasing inflation and poverty, a host of internal issues and problems, lack of innovation and slowly losing the battle in terms of technology and investing in ai and the future vs China, India etc.. and instead of investing their money in that they keep throwing it away for countless external things all over the world.
I predict in 30 years the EU will have an even much greater poverty and completely lag behind the world leaders in many areas, they are quickly going towards being a 3rd world country in the far future, you can't make this up lol.

1. There is no point of investing money domestically if you have an expansionist neighbour on your border that continually attempts to expand eastward, challenging the sovereignty of your member states. You must always neutralize an external threat before it overtakes you.

2. $39 Billion usd divided by 27 member countries is $1.45 Billion usd per nation. That's a drop in the bucket for most EU economies. Furthermore, the loan is simply backed by those nations, it's actually being paid off over approximately 12 years by the $3-4 Billion usd generated annually from Russia's frozen assets in Europe, which won't be unfrozen until the loan is paid off.

3. Russia's downfall will happen much faster than the EU's will. Russia has serious demographic issues, not nearly enough immigration to close the gap and an unhealthy population being exacerbated with a dying work force. They cannot afford hundreds of thousands of dead, disabled and critically injured working age men, especially in a ear that isn't going yield them anything of relavent value.

I'm fully in favour of more Western money for Ukraine's defense. We waste our tax money on so many awful programs and initiatives that are terribly ran and executed. At least the destruction of the army of our geostrategic rival is a tangible goal.

The column, consisting of two Ukrainian BMP CV9040C, a Strv 122 tank and two BMP Marder 1A3, was moving towards the village of Vesyoliy. The column came under attack from Russian 152-mm howitzers D-20 and FPV drones one and a half kilometers from the border. I’ve read an interview a few weeks ago with an Australian businessman who was producing such drones in Ukraine, and he said that what we see now is just the begining, as the production of drones is quickly ramping up to reach mass production, and that at the end of the year the volumes will be at a totally different level. If this is true, Russia is toast, as Ukraine will be able to send wave after wave of drones, which will be impossible to defend against.

The only good thing they are doing now is throwing money at Ukraine to support the war. Considering the huge waste of money happening in Europe on so many stupid programs, the military support for Ukraine is the best spent money of European governments and the EU. More money for Ukraine means less money wasted on other stuff.

Unfortunately you are probably right here as well.

This is why it is even more important to support Ukraine winning the war now, when Europe is still wealthy and powerful enough. If in the future Europe will be poorer and weaker than it is now, it will be harder to defend itself against Russia, so it makes sense to defeat it now when the cost is much easier to sustain and there is the technological edge favoring Europe.

Large scale war is all about logistics. I have no delusions of Russia running out of ammunition to fight this war, they will not. That said, you are correct that the more of these facilities that Ukraine hits, the further ammunition has to be moved across country by rail and truck in order to get to the front lines. Those trains and convoys become soft targets for Ukrainian drone and HIMARS operators as they make long journeys towards the front.

Russian logistics have been underwhelming since the outset of the war. Anything Ukraine can do to ensure that they further complicate that reality will serve them well along the extensive front line of this war.

UK central government chose to reduce funding to local government. Local government is supposed to maintain roads, provide a library service, adult education. All cut back severely.

With $3 trillion+ UK GDP, spending $1 billion or $2 billion a year on Ukraine is easily affordable. Up to now UK has spent little on supplying Ukraine with military hardware. Years ago it bought and paid for most of the weapons it has sent.

I read in the Ukraine online press that sending early Typhoons is a possibility. Paid for years ago, the cost to the UK would be next to nothing (jet fuel to fly them to Ukraine) but I suspect might be recorded as a $2 billion - $3 billion military aid contribution. In fact, because they are due to be withdrawn from service next year - after which they would require no more spares - British industry would be better off if they were given to Ukraine than if they were not. Instead of costing the UK 2 or 3 billion dollars, it would actually make money for the UK!

PS I don't think that Typhoon would be much use to Ukraine - not suited to Ukraine conditions and very expensive to operate. More sensible would be to keep them in RAF service for air defence so that later Typhoons can be deployed outside of UK as required.

I think there is no need to hesitate about allowing Ukraine to use Storm Shadow or Sculp.
Russia has been promoting the Sarmat missile a lot, which is considered an important part of strategic deterrence.
If 4 out of 5 tests failed due to mechanical failure or during refueling. This means that the Russian missile development process is in a critical situation.
Sarmat is not the only missile. There have been failed tests of the Yaris missile, RS-24, which deviated from its course, and the Bulava missile, RSM-56, which is deployed on submarines.
In this case, the success of Russia's nuclear capability is doubtful.
