This is such a silly take. Anyone who has ever been to war, trained for war, or who understands geopolitical conflict, understands that there are only winners and losers. The winners do what it takes to win.

Russia made a major tactical error in invading Ukraine and assuming that the wealthy countries in the West would not let the people of Russia bleed out as a result. It is in the West's best interest to make the Russian people pay a dear price for their aggression. Why? Because they are our enemy and have been since the rise of Communism.

As long as the Ukrainians have the will to fight, the West should continue to arm them in their fight against Russia. It's beneficial for Ukraine in their attempt to salvage their homeland and it's beneficial for the West in our attempt to smash the Russian economy, deeply damage the Russian war machine, turn the Oligarchs on the Putin Regime and destabilize the Russian Duma. If the people of Russia must suffer as a consequence, so be it. They have no problem making the civilians of Ukraine suffer, therefore, they deserve no pity in return.

If it costs the West $100 billion dollars in war funding, to make this a drawn out conflict, and the Russian government is forced to steal from its own citizens to fund their war effort, such is life. Russia and its people will gotten what they've deserved.

More importantly, a deeply weakened Russia will be abused and taken advantage of by China, in terms of energy and commercial food trade. When Russia becomes a World pariah, the Chinese will swoop in and bleed them dry further.

I don't get caught up in name calling, narrative creation or linguistic gymnastics.

There are winners and losers in this world. Period. It's in the West's long term best interest to bleed Russia out and ruin them economically. The result will be them leaving this invasion as a loser, regardless of what land Ukraine, inevitably, surrenders.

The win for the West will be forcing Russia into pariah status, for the Chinese and the Indians to bend them over and break them economically. Such is the way of global politics and conflict.

Russians simply advanced along the roads and after few days just stuck there. Ukrainians dont do any organized counterattacks no attempts to cut and encircle stretched Russian lines. Just guerilla style ambushes.

Ironically Russians used same exactly insane road column tactics in Georgia Ossetia 2008 war:

And these endless columns managed to shock and scare the Georgians so they just stopped fighting and Russia achieved everything they wanted just in 5 days.

Also currently fighting is in South/Eastern Russian speaking part of Ukraine. Putin thought population will welcome him there. But it was not the case.

Kharkiv was one of the most pro Russian cities in Ukraine in 2014 and now it is doing the most fierce resistance to Russians.

Current situation is more or less like this. Russians did not advance much since last map but managed to clear flanks and rears. Chernihiv and Sumy areas remain without clear frontlines, so Russian convoys are still very vulnerable there. Russians were pushed back from Nikolayev area.

Seems Russians realized they cant take whole Ukraine or Kiev so will focus on Donetsk area. Russians will try to encircle Ukrainians there

Funny they have no problems following orders of artillery striking civilians waiting for busses or shooting civilians waiting in line for food. Striking families who are crossing bridges for safety.
Killing a group of young people who just delivered food to a animal shelter.
No problem targeting elderly in a car with their 30mm. No problem executing old women and even their own when they try to intervene.
No problem killing groups of Ukrainiens trying to make food. Oh and have we forgotten that they killed 300 people, mainly children, seeking shelter at a theater? Marked fat and big with CHILDREN?

Every single Russian soldiers who doesn't lay down his arms and surrenders or turns on his own deserve a bullet in the head. Funny they have no problem fighting until they realize they are getting their shit kicked in and suddenly they become conscripts.

Funny thing is that by commiting war crimes against POW you ensure that no Russian soilder will ever lay down their arms and surrender. Forcing your enemy to fight to the death because the alternative is to be tortured as a POW is stupid.
What is even more stupid is posting the videos on the internet and giving Russia propaganda material to rally the entire country behind the war.
