The bear would not care less about her losses in this conflict, or any other conflict, for as long as the goal is achieved. Otherwise the dead would not be prey to wild beasts out in the fields. Now how cruel is that? Do you really think Russia cares about emotional masturbation of others saying that her arse got kicked in battle?
All in all, what you refer to here is hardly the focus of my words…
Who will win or loose largely depends on how the lgbt voters are consolidated! Seriously, I would put my signature under your words, except your closing statement, even a gifted soothsayer would struggle to spit out; “Russia might win in the short term but it will lose in the long term.” The slavs are an interesting species, they do not accept defeat so easy, and they give everything they’ve got under firm leadership. Label me pro-Russian if you will, I can only visualize a people working harder than today to overcome, to prevail in the future. Under Putin they have folded their GDP some 12 times, they can do the same or better in the future, backed by the enormous resources the country has. And the west will never entirely cut the ties, it is not in their immediate interest, nor the future…The invincible Bear that just doesn't care about any losses at all... is just a thing of the past even though it still lives in the minds of Putin, his team and most Russians. Russia is not the Soviet Union with it's endless supply of fresh meat for the military, with the technological, scientific and military potential that in many fields was on par/in front of the West.
Losing thousands of your best trained soldiers, losing thousands of pieces of tech, losing dozens of air defense systems, losing dozens of precious planes and helicopters, losing ships... and all that in just a month is a HUGE loss for any military.
These loses are effectively demilitarizing Russia and much of the goodies for Ukraine haven't even arrived yet- I talk about anti- ship missiles, real air defenses, armored vehicles.
Russians have limited access to high tech stuff anyway but with these sanctions their military will get crippled even more. Their defense industry and military is stuck in the 80s and without any access to modern Western technologies and machinery anymore they will get even further behind NATO. How will they replenish their losses after the war when some of their military production facilities already stopped production because they have no access to spare parts... We all read the articles about the situation in the Russian reserves, we all know how big the corruption and mismanegement in there is. Heck, a year ago computers were stolen from the Russian Doomsday plane itself- the very same plane that is supposed to be Russia's flying fortress which protects the President and his Team when nukes start detonating.
Russia might win in the short term but it will lose in the long term.
In order to achieve those goals 40000 casualties and the lost equipment would really come handy, alas no such luck. They will have to do it with the recrutes and 40 years old equipment which is in the reserve. The bear would not care less about her losses in this conflict, or any other conflict, for as long as the goal is achieved. Think before you attempt a strategic analysis. He is responsible for losing thousands and thousands of soldiers, hundreds of tanks, dozens of jets and helicopters and not to mention the damage that has been caused to Russia's reputation on a global scale and yet you are describing this as a minor 'miscalculation'. How can you seriously claim that Russia has achieved its goals? Are you aware of the dire consequences this military defeat will have for Russian military exports in the coming years?Despite deadly miscalculations of the aging farts in command chain, why not
How you take these words as “strategic analyses” is beyond me! Shoot, it is for the showdown that comes next…Think before you attempt a strategic analysis. Do you even realize that Russia's most advanced EW system (Krasukh-4) has been captured almost without any damage and has been brought to the US airbase Ramstein in Germany?

Russia will always be a country that nobody will dare to attack but the country is screwed on many dimensions.
This ridiculous military adventure is going to bite Moscow's ass for decades to come. You people must understand that ignoring the reality doesn't change it.

EDIT: Looking into recent “blackmail” arguments, Russian financial assets even today may not be depleted as portrayed by the West. France insists “she will pay in Euros, not rubles” for oil and gas purchases from Russia!
Well put bro, however Nigeria and Congo do not have an empire, not even an efficient state organization in their resume! I do get your point thoughThere is a big difference between the words "might/may" and "will" but I will leave it for you to interpret them the way you like.
And yeah, Russian masses for sure can survive on only vodka and potatoes as misery is something that they have forever lived in anyway. Human life and improving it's quality have almost never been a priority to Russian authorities. Alcoholism and serfdom have been engraved in the Russian mentality forever so yeah, they prefer the strong hand and the whip of their Slave master. The big problem is that for centuries the Russian mothers were giving births to 6-7-8 kids on average so human resources have never been a problem in the past. But to make a huge population work and achieve goals you need a competent and well educated elite class of people which Russia for sure had back in the centuries- artists, scientists, authors, composers- Russia and the Soviet union had them for sure.
But here is where the problems is- last year Russia had a million more deaths than it had births... Alcoholism, drug abuse, suicides, AIDS, rapes, murders, life longevity etc- Russia scores poorly in all of them.
All that combined with a huge brain drain that is happening right now. Probably like 20 000 Russians settled only in Istanbul in the last month- and those are all people with financial resources and good education. Russians are now fleeing like crazy towards Finland, Georgia, even Central Asia and Armenia. These are the people that make a country grow and develop in the 21st century. Nigeria and Congo also have resources but for sure are much behind South Korea.
