I mean, the armored vehicles can easily and comfortably got there. So obviously there's no meaningful resistance in the first place.

I bet 2 day max for Ukraine capital city to fall.
Any serious defender would know that cities offer the best terrain for defending and bleeding the enemy. I mean ISIS once defended the much smaller city of Mosul for 9 months with only 5k troops against ~100k coalition soldier supported by NATO airpower.

If this is true and Kharkiv did indeed fall without resistance then it's safe to assume that the commanders behind Ukraine defence are not really that brilliant or have already given up before the fight.

Off course I hope this is not true, but every search points to that.

I cant believe they really did it, they are attacking to conquer.
I sure hope that Russia will be sanctioned hard.

Best of luck to the Ukrainian people.

Thats the difference between fanatcism and or being a coward.

Isis fighters were religious fanatics to the core their fighting abilities remind me of Imperial Japan. Which means they wont go without a fight which means blowing themselves up and rigging every place with explosives.

Ukraine is starting to remind me of Iraq. They are not fighting but fleeing!!

Religious zeal can always create fanatical soldiers who believe they are doing God's work or fighting promises them Heaven.

I even believe religion is more powerful than nationalism when motivating troops.

Not just Muslims and Christians who capitalised on Religious zeal dont forget the Gokturks, Mongols, Huns, Vikings, Aztecs and the Romans.

You have a point, I was expecting Kharkiv to be a Festungstadt and drawn the Russians into a prolonged urban combat. But it seems my imagination stays with me not the defenders.

ANYONE who has saw the urban battles of Mosul, Raqqa, Al-Bab, Aleppo, Damascus and Grozny would appreciate what a huge city could offer to a defending forces instead of trenches.

Now add fanaticism to the recipe and walla
