The threat of bombing Russian cities

The SBU colonel explained how to deter Russia

With the Russian Federation, only under one condition it is possible to conduct a normal political dialogue, the people's deputy believes.

In order to contain the Russian Federation, Ukraine must be able to bomb enemy cities in response.

The Ukrainian state needs to make such weapons that could hit objects on enemy territory, including medium-range missiles, said Roman Kostenko, people's deputy, colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine, defender of the Donetsk airport, who is fighting against the Russian Federation, in an interview with journalist Dmitry Gordon, writes Gordon.

According to the interlocutor, a normal dialogue about politics can be conducted with the Russian side only when the country is frightened.

"I'm talking about deterrence now. We are not limited by any acts regarding the range of our missiles. What would give us the ability to deter the enemy? The Russian Federation also has nuclear plants. I do not call for them to bomb. We should not do this.
But we must threaten their infrastructure facilities , nuclear power plants and economic facilities...",

Baykar's CEO, Mr Haluk Bayraktar in an interview on CNN, said that his company won't be selling any TB-2s to Russia.
They support Ukraine's struggle for their independence and sovereignty.

Complete lack of geopolitical nuance or diplomacy. She's cornering him to say we won't sell weapons to Russia, which indirectly harms the Turkish Russian relationship, which benefits America and the EU. Turkey doesnt exist to benefit America or Russia, she exists to benefit her own people and then her friends.

These people shouldn't do these sorts of interviews. I get you make some nice drones, but please we need people who understand state diplomacy.

This is coming from someone who has no love for Russia, who doesn't support 1% of what they are doing and someone who wishes we arm Ukraine more.

What he should have said was something along the lines of we have a great relationship with Ukraine and we also have a great relationship with Russia. In this specific circumstance and he should highlight this is his personal opinion not state opinion, since he does not speak for the state, that it would be wrong to support Russia here. Like wise if Russia was ever attacked or invaded unjustly that Turkey would look to support Russia, that would couldnt look away when our friends are in trouble. But he would like to see peace come soon between these two nations that Turkey is both friends with.

You see it this way, others see it as a good PR for Baykar and Türkiye.

Cornering Turkey geopolitically is not good for Turkey. The host asking the retarded question of will you sell drones to Russia was a clear trap. If he said yes, it paints Turkey as the enemy of the west, if he says no it makes the russians hate Turkey even more. And when Turkey has no options with the east, the west uses to screw Turkey even more.

Unfortunately the way i see things is not the way the majority of ak party supporters see it, as a result Turkey has a terrible international image.

The only diplomat who knew how to talk to the west I've seen under the AK party years was Abdullah Gul. The rest have been shockingly naïve and incompetent. They go in blind and end up getting their pants pulled down by the same international media that ran stories that Turkey supports isis or is committing genocide on the kurds.

If the guy had his wits about him, he could have used that question about selling drones to Russia and turned it on her. Listing all the places Turkey has combated Russia while all the allied NATO nations placing sanctions on Turkey from the F35 to the german tank engine and despite all the places we fight with Russia the Russians are still willing to sell us weapons. And then laughed at her and made a joke that maybe Turkey would have a better relationship with her allies if they fought with each other more.

Also worth keeping in mind that when Turkey was selling Ukraine drones back in 2019 the west was warning Turkey not to sell them drones. That would have been a great point to bring up. That when her government threatened Turkey not to sell Ukraine, we still did and who knows had we not sold Ukraine drones maybe kiev would have fallen.

Ukraine's Parliament Approves Firing Of Top Prosecutor, Head Of Security Service

Ukraine's parliament has approved a proposal by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to fire Prosecutor-General Iryna Venediktova, two days after he announced he was removing her and another top security official from their posts over dozens of alleged cases of collaboration with Russia by officials at agencies they supervise.

Lawmaker David Arakhamia confirmed on Telegram the July 19 vote in the Verkhovna Rada to support Zelenskiy's move, which has put a spotlight on Kyiv's battle to purge its powerful security agencies of collaborators and Russian agents after Moscow launched a war against Ukraine on February 24.

Two other lawmakers said Ivan Bakanov, the head of the Security Service (SBU) and a lifelong friend of the president's, had also been removed from his post.

Venediktova has said she will not comment on the substance of her suspension now but will give a comprehensive statement later after the current situation regarding her status is settled.

Arakhamia said Venediktova was still part of Zelenskiy's team and that with her experience she "will serve the state in a new place that needs to be strengthened by professional managers and lawyers."

This might be a diplomatic post, Arakhamia said.

"We talked, and in principle we can say that she voluntarily resigned from her post by agreement of the parties," Arakhamia said on Ukrainian television. "We are waiting for her new appointment on the diplomatic front in a few days or maybe a week."

In announcing the suspensions of Venediktova and Bakanov on July 17, Zelenskiy said 651 cases had been opened into suspected treason and collaboration by prosecutors and law enforcement officials, and that more than 60 people from Bakanov's and Venediktova's agencies were now working against Kyiv in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

Zelenskiy continued the purge on July 19 by sacking the deputy head of the SBU and four regional SBU heads.

In a related move, the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) said in a statement on July 19 that the former chief of the SBU's directorate for Crimea, Oleh Kulinich, had been placed in pretrial detention on a charge of high treason. He will remain in custody until at least September 13.

Kulinich, who led the SBU's directorate for Ukraine's Russian-occupied Crimea from October 2020 until March this year, was arrested on July 16 on suspicion of collaboration with Russian secret services. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Only guy during ak party years who knew how to conduct interviews with foreign media. Everyone else gets exposed and embarrassed. I'm not saying hes a good guy, bad guy etc, simply that he knew how to conduct himself when under media interrogation.
