The Tu-22M looks a bit damaged, replacing the engine, rudder and rear parts won't be much of a problem.

Don't know if this has been posted before.
could explain the abysmal performance of Russian Armed forces in this war.
The presentation is corny but makes some important points.My favourite one from 36:24
  1. Corruption is not ''efficiently'' ditributed
  2. It can introduce points of failure in intricate systems for relatively paltry amounts of money
  3. It can ground an offensive before it even begins
  4. e.g A $2m tank can't move without diesel ( diesel that has been sold for say $50,000). Sometimes a 2.5% corruption means that there is a 100% reduction in capability.
Covers many aspects like ghost divisions that only collect salaries , falsifying records, culture , hierarchy etc.

Corruption affects all militaries, some more than others.

This is a long term problem as the Russian empire and the Soviet Union suffered the same thing.

But it seems Russian federation today is much worse in its corruption than the Tsarists or the Soviets.

Damn the problem is much bigger than I thought.

Its easy to diss third world armies regardless if its Arab, African or South American.

But the Russians we are talking about for so many times we talked about the Russians as if they can give the Americans and NATO a run for its money. Everybody was in awe about them even fearing them that they made it into films and videogames.

If there was one army that can take on the Americans it was the Russians.

But it seems many experts have also warned about how behind Russia is by giving numerous historical examples and their modern day campaigns like in Chechnya, Georgia and Syria.

Lets not forget the Beslan Debacle in 2004.
