The White House: We expect an offensive by the Russians in some areas of Ukraine

With the improvement of weather conditions in Ukraine, Russian forces can go on the offensive in several areas of military operations, said John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communication of the US National Security Council, in an interview with Voice of America.
According to him, the United States is increasing security assistance to Ukraine so that the Armed Forces have all the opportunities for their own counteroffensive.

"We know that in the spring, when the weather improves, and it is already starting to improve, we can expect that the Russians will want to go on the offensive in some areas, and we don't know exactly where and how they will do it, but we want to ensure that the Ukrainians able to better defend against it. - 21,000x C7 assault rifles
- 50x section machine guns
- 2.4 millions rounds of small arms ammunition.

While not nearly as substantive as the packages the Americans can afford to send, all of this equipment will be valuable in arming / kitting out the new assault units Ukraine is putting together for their late spring / summer offensive.

The plan is to have a Ukrainian brigade trained on the Abrams tanks using stored American tanks, that way the ones being donated to Ukraine can be put to use as soon as they are finished being retrofitted.**

Britain has now completed the delivery of promised equipment to Ukraine. Items delivered include:

- 14 Challenger 2 MBTs, with associated spare parts and armored recovery vehicles.

- 32 AS90, 155mm self-propelled howitizers.

- 150+ armoured vehicles of various types.

- "Hundreds" of air defence and short / medium range strike missiles, including AMRAAMS and Brimstones.

The success of Ukraine May offensive will depend on the Russian air force. If Ukraine manage to contest the airspace to Russian aviation and limit its use around the battlefield like in Kherson and the RuAf continue to operate in a shrewd careful manner, there's a chance that ground manouver will be successful. However now its becoming clear that the VKS is re-arming their bomber fleet with more and more precision glide bombs. And because it glide way beyond the reach of many Ukraine's GBAD we'll be seeing more and more high altitude bombings by the RuAF. UkAF might not be in a position to challenge Russian bombers at high altitude due to the danger of AWACS + Su-35s and Russian long range AD.

Depending on luck and how the Russian air force operate the May offensive might be another Kherson or a modern day Ardennes/ Khafji.
