The White House: We expect an offensive by the Russians in some areas of Ukraine
With the improvement of weather conditions in Ukraine, Russian forces can go on the offensive in several areas of military operations, said John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communication of the US National Security Council, in an interview with Voice of America.
According to him, the United States is increasing security assistance to Ukraine so that the Armed Forces have all the opportunities for their own counteroffensive.
"We know that in the spring, when the weather improves, and it is already starting to improve, we can expect that the Russians will want to go on the offensive in some areas, and we don't know exactly where and how they will do it, but we want to ensure that the Ukrainians able to better defend against it. If they decide on their own offensive operations, they would have the ability to carry them out," Kirby said in an interview with Voice of America.
"We are developing the capacities we provide to Ukraine," he added.
Kirby listed the needs of the Armed Forces for today, among which he named armored vehicles, artillery, air defense, and logistical support.
"This is truly the life force of any army in the field. How to keep her in battle. How to maintain it, how to get spare parts, food, water and fuel, things you need to keep it going. So it should be among the priorities as well," said the representative of the White House.
