Don't feel sorry for zelensky, Biden or putin. No harm will come to them. harm always happens to ordinary citizens. No one knows how many innocent innocent people have died so far.

But you can clearly see who profited from this war. usa? England? Israel? Canada?

Do you want to play hockey with Canadiens or Indians? Hahahahaha :) Effing epic.
Make no mistake about it, we've beaten the piss out of Russia in hockey for so long, they have PTSD about it and would much rather play against India.

That said, Russia 🇷🇺 does have some excellent players in the NHL. Ovechkin is a beauty. Malkin has been great for a long time. Kucherov is top notch for the Lightning, as is Vasilevskiy. They produce other excellent goalies as well. Complete credit where it's due... That said, if they want to put our respective best squads together for another "Super Series" good luck Russia.

Back to Ukraine 🇺🇦 vs Russia 🇷🇺

You mean the countries in the world that people are bending over backwards to live in and immigrate to because they have the highest standards or living, the best human rights, the world's best cities and higher education systems...

That checks out.

No? colonial expansion countries. Even those who make countries fight and cause people to die. These countries are neither developed nor humane, nor have any other characteristics. There is only modern slavery in these countries. Slavery order called industrial society. It's an evil scheme that feeds on the blood flowing now in Ukraine and elsewhere.

My neighbor lives in Canada. Like everywhere else, the capitalist system was working in Canada. I mean, if you're rich, life is good, if you're not, continue slavery. As in every country. Also, democracy in the west is only in the media.

Every country where westerners do not have evil and is not exploited by westerners is quite livable geographies.
Lol... You do not have to be "rich" in Canada to enjoy a higher standard of living than most areas of the world. That's complete nonsense. The average, working class Canadian has access to things that BILLIONS of empoverished people from around the world dream of. Everything from first world healthcare (proven out by life expectancy), to highly subsidized post-secondary education, home / land ownership, freedom from persecution, right to religious freedom without persecution, direct access to a currency that is convertable and exchangeable globally, etc, etc... Not to mention, cities such as Toronto and Vancouver, that are routinely and objectively ranked among the best cities in the world to live in.

Canada is nowhere near perfect. No country is. But it's definitely among the better countries in the world to live in. There is a reason why people from around the world are wait listed for years for a chance to immigrate to Canada. We also have an enormous net inflow of some of the best and brightest minds from around the world, who want to leave their own countries, for better situations. Doctors, Specialists, Lawyers, Real Estate Developers, Engineers, Professors, etc.

By the way, we have among the greatest quantities of fresh water, soft and hardwood lumber, oil, and precious minerals in the world... We're doing just fine.

F111C is also expensive and complex to maintain. But its retirement was still controversial as the Australian air force was divided in trying to retire it many did not want it retired while the other side wanted it as the f35 was coming.

Still makes me sad how we are burying them.

I would have kept them around if I were in Aussie airforce shoes....as long as possible. Extract every bit of value from them possible.

It has long range attack capability, large part of reason Australia picked it given its land and maritime needs (Australia is literal continent size) and lessons from WW2 regarding that i.e the need to interdict on island chains as far as possible from Australian mainland.

That long range _+ large payload is main reason F-111 actually started out as naval interdiction competition competitor to the F-14 for the USN.

This would serve as an economy of scale argument for shared platform development for USAAF long range fighter use (TFX project).

That is one of the more interesting competition analysis to read about if you have the time and interest for it.

It was ultimately decided the F-14 was preferable (in the USN) given iirc, hangar volume and existing carrier class dimensions and the time they would still be in service in light of budget allocations at the time versus costs + time of new (much larger) carrier builds.

That's very different to the UKR - Russia theatre though.

UAF for example would be in far better shape, pound for pound, dollar for dollar....if it somehow had many more squadrons of Su-24s (and all the pilots trained and well versed for that number along with the maintenance and weapon stockpiles etc) and now augments them all with storm shadow from the UK. F-16s would have been ideal complement to this at start of the war.... though for Ukraine I guess its better late than never regarding them....we will have to see how that all goes.

Sweet Jesus, 3 days ago a M777 howitzer was destroyed and today now another one. Cant wait for those longer range, heavier payload faster turbojet kamikaze drones to be produced and eventually the Hermes missiles which are like mach+3 drones

Hopefully we see both Germany and USA start donating their own cruise missiles to Ukraine. Stormshadow / SCALP provided by Britain and France have been absolutely hammering Russian logistics and supply hubs over the last week or so and the increased range is causing Russia big problems because nothing inside Ukraine is safe now and Ukrainian partisans in occupied areas are able to act as informants for the location of Russian troop build ups, logistical hubs and strategic locations.

TLAMs, JASSMs and Taurus cruise missiles would continue to wreak havoc on advanced Russian positions, which will squeeze the resources away from Russian units responsible for holding the front. The goal for Ukraine is clearly to drive Russia's supply lines back into Russia, forcing the Russians to travel long distances in order to re-supply. Russian logistics have been an adject failure since the outset of this war. Only their combined arms fighting has been worse. Stressing Russian logistics beyond their capability is a strategically significant, especially with the goal in mind of undermining their artillery advantage.

nice and slow TLAMs, JASSMs and Taurus that can be intercepted for Ukraine would be favorable indeed. We have heard numerous times here about game changing weapons for Ukraine as our next cope whenever Russia takes places like Bakhmut away as a tale as old as time here. Does Ukraine have anything yet that can deal with Lancet drones that keep hitting them? When is the next weapons package deal if they keep getting smaller and smaller?

I've said it and I say it again. The US could easily supply JASSM in the triple digit especially the older baseline JASSM. Now that the US has close to (if not more than) 5000+ JASSM stock.

My guess is they're waiting for the transfer of F-16 as the Falcons is the suitable launch platform for the JASSM.

Unlike Germany, Britain and France that stockpile their cruise missile once every ten year. The JASSM is in hot production line right now + Lockheed Martin is increasing production of up to 1000 AUR per year now. so there's not that much concern that US military will run out for its own use

The JASSM is combat proven, used in missile strike against Assad military facility in Syria, piercing through the S-400 defended airspace of Damascus and Barzeh.

Other than that a limited transfer of AGM-84K or JSOW would be nice.

Make no mistake about it, if the United States wants the Russian military paralyzed in Ukraine, they absolutely have the inventory to make it happen.

S-300 and S-400 have had no answer for Storm Shadow and SCALP over the last week, as a pile of videos and pictures of deep strikes on Berdyansk, Melitopol, Donetsk, Tokmak, etc, etc have emerged. Ukrainians have been striking Russian positions with impunity, recently. Unfortunately, the quantity of cruise missiles Ukraine has access to are limited. They need about 500 of them from USA, Germany, France and Britain, so they can use them more liberally and strike soft targets such as troop concentrations. Right now they have to be selective with their usage.

Just another reminder that despite the bluster front Russia, they've lost exponentially more ground in the last year than they've gained. Their winter offensive managed to capture very, very little territory ans now their most capable fighting force, Wagner, is rotating out to refit and reconstitute, as even Prighozin has admitted that Bakhmut (which took embrassingly long for them to conquer) cost them a sizeable amount of their forces and equipment.

Those S-400s are to protect Russian over Syrian assets and it depends where the strikes occurred. Israel striking random cargo boxes in Syria is not the duty of the S-400 to go apprehend and waste a missile on even if the location is nowhere near where an S-400 was at(Syria is still pretty big). If you want an example of how effective an air defense is, look no further than the Patriots and you can go ask no one better than the Ukrainians themselves, I mean I get it that they do lie but the news this month made me slam my face against the desk than taking a facepalm.

1. They could have just said they intercepted the kinzhal and left it at that and everyone here would eat up the news here that it actually happened NOPE Klitsckho decided to showcase his proof that everyone in a youtube video started to call him out.

2. Bunch of SAM missiles were being fired and moments later in that video bright explosions were seen where the location of where those SAMs were being fired. NOPE Ukrainian media decided to say it was their Patriots that intercepted everything than trying to save face that it was an S-300(U.S. media a few days later decided to say the Patriots got damaged) At this point every Turk on this forum feels relieved that the other candidate didn't win who would have insisted Turkey to buy Patriots and western aviation wonders than pursuing their own projects and I feel even more bad for Poland blowing billions of dollars away.

I think we have yet to see or hear about an S-400 damaged or destroyed, but we have irrefutable proof about the patriots thanks to Ukraine. No idea why Biden "felt negative" yesterday about Belarus getting nuclear weapons if the Patriots are very effective.

I'm not sure they can have all 500 in one go, but the more realistic approach is rationing cruise missile per month. Like maybe 5-10 ALCM earmarked for Ukraine use by missile producing NATO country.

My best bet here are the missile making country of USA, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Turkey. The US is now upscaling production of its JASSM, while the UK-Italy-France has the MBDA consortium producing all sorts of missiles, Germany-Sweden consortium of SAAB-DIEHL could start producing more of their Taurus KEPD 350 or donate some of the RBS-15 which has land attack capability. Turkey produces the Roketsan SOM and Norway with its NSM. All of which are able to be launched from tactical strike jets and all equipped with Imaging seekers.

If each of those major missile producing country donate just 10-20 of its stocks, Ukraine's options to take out Russian ammo dump and other critical infra will be extended for months. We could even see another attack on the Crimea bridge or even the Black sea fleet ammunition arsenal in Sevastopol blown up.

Add those cruise missile delivery with more JDAM-ER, more GMLRS, more GLSDB and ATACMS and superior ISR gathering capability of the combined NATO country and walaaa.

No idea if Ukrainian sources are reliable as klitchko in regards to kinzhal production, but this might be important if we are talking about chips.

ne of the most acute problems of modern Russian industry (and perhaps the most acute) is the problem of domestic production of semiconductors. New plant in Zelenograd. The construction of the new plant began at the end of 2021 on the site of the demolished two old buildings of Angstrem, built back in the 1970s. Currently, three new infrastructure facilities for the Russian semiconductor industry are being built simultaneously in one area within walking distance: - A new factory is presumably being created for the production of a 3-nanometer topology (by 5). This technology was chosen for a reason: 50 nm is today's limit for the qualitative reduction of logic elements on modern silicon wafers.

This is not a reduction in size, but an optimization that allows you to achieve greater performance and density of elements within a topology of 28 nm.

By October, the structures of several floors were erected. The builders went to the level of the last floor of the plant. The construction of the plant is expected to be completed in 2024.

Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC), a resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), is preparing to start mass production of photonic integrated circuits and modules for telecommunications equipment. This was announced on December 2, 2022 by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

Photonic technologies make it possible to increase the speed of information transmission by more than 100 times, so products with their use are in demand among manufacturers and customers of high-speed equipment. The development of this industry contributes to the strengthening of the country's technological sovereignty. As of December 2022, a resident of the special economic zone of the capital is implementing a comprehensive project to launch mass production of photonic integrated circuits and modules for telecommunications equipment. The company intends to localize the production of optical multiplexers based on silicon technologies in Russia. It is planned to start delivering the first batches of products in 2023, and serial production in 2024," said Vladimir Efimov.

ZNTC is one of the first enterprises in Russia to produce photonic integrated circuits. Today, the development and development of such technologies is one of the new and most promising areas of the company's development. Work in the field of photonics and nanotechnology technologies is carried out by universities, research and commercial enterprises, but, as a rule, within the framework of scientific research.

In October 2022, ZNTC entered the Moscow intersectoral photonics cluster, which unites specialized enterprises and scientific and technical organizations of the capital. The intersectoral association was created on the basis of the Moscow Innovation Cluster.

The Moscow Photonics Cluster is the main base for the development of photonic technologies in the city, ensuring the country's technological sovereignty in this area. It supports the work on the transfer of scientific developments to production. As of December 2022, the cluster includes 40 participants, about half of whom are residents of the special economic zone of the capital," said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

The developed photonic integrated circuits can be used in high-speed and energy-efficient devices for transmitting and processing telecommunication signals. This equipment is used for onboard equipment and ground infrastructure of the aerospace industry, as well as in the telecommunications industry for the organization of powerful 5/6G information networks, connecting users to high-speed Internet, IP telephony and IP television.

We have accumulated considerable experience in the design of photonics elements. Currently, ZNTC is mastering the production of multiplexers, modulators, dividers, interferometers and resonators. The first samples of crystals of the domestic optical waveguide AWG multiplexer, which provides signal passage in telephone and local computer networks and data transmission networks, were obtained. Now we are preparing mass production and in the near future we plan to produce at least five thousand products per year," said Konstantin Pevchikh, head of the technological direction of integrated photonics at ZNTC.

An optical waveguide AWG multiplexer is a device that allows you to combine electrical signals with various interfaces (telephone networks, local computer networks, data networks) into a single group signal, convert it into an optical form and transmit it over a fiber optic cable over a distance. ZNTC also plans to develop and produce splitters, tunable spectral and frequency filters, thermo-optical switches, modulators.

Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center has been a resident of the special economic zone of the capital for more than 10 years, since 2011. During this time, the company has invested almost three billion rubles in the development of production. The company employs 190 people," said Gennady Degtev, General Director of SEZ Technopolis Moscow.

Start of production of chips for industrial devices and robotics

Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC JSC), a resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), began producing import-substituting microelectronics for industrial automation, robotics and other high-tech industries. This was announced on October 21, 2022 by Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the capital.

The company begins small-scale production of integrated circuits designed to control the angle of rotation in the control systems of various objects, including industrial devices and household appliances. Also, the development will be used in robotics. In addition, it can be used in the automotive industry, in electronic engine control systems, to adjust the position of the headlights and the angle of inclination of the seats. The company has been a resident of the SEZ of Moscow for more than 10 years - since 2011. During this time, it gained 3.4 billion rubles from the sale of products and developments, said Vladislav Ovchinsky.
Enterprises that have the status of a resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow receive additional support. They are exempt from paying land, property and transport taxes, the income tax rate for them has been reduced to two percent. In addition, customs duties are not levied on the goods imported by them.
Enterprises of the microelectronic industry make up the majority among residents of the special economic zone of Moscow. As of October 2022, there are over 30 of them. They make the most tangible contribution to the development of the capital's high-tech industry. In the first half of 2022 alone, the amount of their investments increased 2021 times compared to the same period in 15 - from 700 million to 11 billion rubles. In particular, the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center has invested about three billion rubles in its development since 2011, said Gennady Degtev, General Director of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow.
The developments of ZNTC correspond to foreign analogues. When creating them, the company's specialists used their own technical solutions.
As of October 2022, one of the priorities of the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center is the development of technologies and the subsequent organization of small-scale production of competitive microelectronic products to ensure independence from foreign manufacturers of the electronic component base, added Elena Khakhanina, Head of the Sales Department of ZNTC JSC.

Launch of Russia's first production of transistors for 5G communication systems

The Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC JSC), a resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), will open Russia's first experimental line for the production of gallium nitride (GaN-Si) transistor crystals. This is stated in the message of the official portal of the Mayor and the Government of Moscow dated August 5, 2022. Such electronic components are used in the production of powerful power supplies, modules of 5G communication systems, equipment for servers and data centers, wireless charging stations for electric vehicles.

The company has invested about one billion rubles in the preparation of its infrastructure for the production of gallium nitride-based transistor crystals, namely, the construction and commissioning of a site for experimental production, said Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations, stressing that "this is the first such production in Russia."
ZNTC plans to start small-scale production of microelectronics on gallium nitride using basic technologies in 2023, said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
The commissioning of a separate production site, which has full autonomy and independence from the main production line, will make it possible to switch to the manufacture of products on gallium nitride substrates from single production to small-scale production, according to the ZNTC.
According to experts, gallium nitride is one of the most popular and promising materials of modern electronics. The development of technologies based on this semiconductor is of strategic importance for telecommunications, the automotive industry, industrial automation and energy.
The key advantages of GaN transistors are speed in comparison with products on silicon substrates, the ability to operate at high voltage. They also have the best reliability indicator," said Galina Anatolyevna Shirkova, head of the Crystal Production of the Zelenograd Nanocenter.

The average annual growth rate of the global market for power electronics on GaN-Si, according to the forecasts of Yole Development, in the next two years will be 85%. The domestic market for microwave and power transistors has grown significantly over the past 2-3 years, however, as of 2022, there is no mass production of electronic components based on gallium nitride in the Russian Federation.
According to Anatoly Kovalev, General Director of ZNTC JSC, the Zelenograd Nanocenter, together with technological and industrial partners, is already working on the creation of a fully localized technology for the production of electronic components based on gallium nitride.

2021: Modernization of the production site to increase the production of microelectronics

The Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC), a resident of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has modernized the production site, which is expected to expand the production of microelectronics, as well as give start-up innovative companies supported by the center access to advanced technologies. This was announced by the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov on June 21, 2021.
"The modernization of the site will make it possible to produce complex microelectronic products for power supplies, electric motors, and communication systems. The additional technical capabilities of the center will serve the development of the microelectronics, optics and robotics cluster of the SEZ of Moscow, which at the end of 2020 was among the leaders in investments with investments in the amount of 2.7 billion rubles. During its work in the SEZ as a resident, ZNTC has invested more than 2 billion rubles in its site. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, the volume of its investments exceeded 90 million rubles," said Alexander Prokhorov.
For more than 10 years, the Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center has been specializing in the development and serial production of products in the field of nano- and microelectronics. In addition, the company helps start-up companies to develop: participates in the financing of their projects, and also provides the necessary high-tech equipment.
"The nanocenter is a full-cycle complex for the development and contract manufacturing of microelectronics products. The modernization will expand the capabilities of innovators to create new and competitive products. The task of the Zelenograd Nanocenter is to transform science into market solutions and finished products," said Gennady Degtev, General Director of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow.
The modernization of the site opened up opportunities for domestic enterprises to access technologies such as 3D integration of multi-chip modules, as well as to the assembly of power and microwave electronics on gallium nitride and integrated photonics for communication systems. 3D assembly technologies are used, in particular, to reduce the size of devices and equipment.
The nanocenter provides opportunities for the production of electronic modules on a turnkey basis, said Anatoly Kovalev, General Director of ZNTC JSC.
"For small businesses, start-ups, student projects, the specialists of the nanocenter help to optimize design solutions, make prototypes and pilot batches of products. ZNTC JSC not only co-finances projects and provides a production line, but also helps companies enter the market," said the head of the center.
