Do Sefine has ability to do it from the theory to the practice?
They have never had it.

Including their other USV designs, that sem-submersible and others are designed by external R&D and Design offices (and a bit of aid from universities when needed).
Sefine is funder and producer, Aselsan is carrying out systems / weapon integration and management including autonomous capabilities.

I was expecting Anadolu Shipyard (ADIK) to have their unmanned landing craft concept present in DIMDEX 2022, however, either noone had paid a careful visit to them or they simply haven't displayed it.

Since their other designs haven't caught much attention, i guess nobody has paid a careful visit there.

Do Turkey have something like this in the works ?
Iran new underwater drone torpedo :
There will be a far better one than this undergraduate college student team level underwater vehicle.

Aselsan's TORK R&D model was looking more sound than what they show as a product.

PS: It is so obvious this is something that travels close to the surface, 15 cm at deepest, travelling at 3 to 7 knots. They even had to use a timed detonator to not fail in the trials. At best their detonator is a contact type fuze and the payload is far less than a typical sea-mine.

Sefine Shipyard Presented Unmanned Surface Vehicles

23 MARCH 2022 100

Sefine Shipyard Presented Unmanned Surface Vehicles

Sefine Shipyard Presented Unmanned Surface Vehicles
Yalova based Sefine Shipyard has presented its naval capabilities at Dimdex Expo in Qatar. The shipyard’s unmanned surface vehicle concept was also presented at the booth.

The shipyard plans to benefit from its infrastructure to adopt its shipbuilding capacity into several missions. The Turkish defence giant ASELSAN will provide the sensor suits.

TurDef has learned that there will be two main vessel classes at the moment. They are called “Constellation” and “Nebula” class vessels. The main difference between the two vessels will be based on how they conduct the mission. The Constellation class is autonomous anti-surface warfare (ASUW) and/or antisubmarine warfare (ASW) fast attack vehicle. It will be equipped with guided missiles, torpedoes and related peripherals designed to meet the high speed, seakeeping and manoeuvrability requirements for defensive and offensive ASUW & ASW combinatorial operations littoral, and blue water.

The Nebula Class is also an autonomous ASUW and/ ASW vessel. However, it is a submersible attack vehicle equipped with guided missiles and torpedoes. It is also designed to meet similar requirements.
Both platforms are suitable for humanitarian and civil missions. Vehicles can easily be configured for different types of payloads according to user requirements with monohull/trimaran hull forms and surface/submersible hull forms and optimized for endurance figures.

Multi-static sonars with USVs, smart-guided ASW Rockets, miniature torpedoes with kement enabled wing suits or even a propulsion. 2025 will be a nice year to see.

  • Nusret-1915 mine detection sonar will be completed (along with the test and certification) by the following year (2022), it is expected to be installed on Engine class MCMW vessels and soon to be announced national MCMW vessel project. The sonar is also expected to be used on USVs via a scaling down.

  • Orkun-2053 dipping sonar will be completed nearly on the similar schedule as Nusret-1915 and expected to be installed on ASW helicopters and another variant to be installed on USVs and tested on Q1 2022.

  • Armelsan is working on a signal form called PRN for sonar systems, it will be unique to the turkish sonar systems and enhance their performance on detection.

  • Armelsan, with Aselsan, is going to offer a scalable multi-static sonar systems deployed by a team of USVs enhancing mapping and ASW capabilities, also by switching from pulse-type active sonars to "always-on" type active sonars, the ASW techniques will be enhanced remarkably. Typically, despite of loosing a certain power due to the scaling down of the sonar systems on a USV, a team of USVs will be able to scan an area larger than what a frigate may do, moreover, frigate's powerful sonar can be used as signal emitters and USV sonars located at far distances can be set as a receiver, using dynamic position, multi-static configuraiton, underwater objects or threats will be "mapped" with a finer resolution and will be detected at longer distances.

  • Melis-2071 is told to be in serial production phase, thus we may safely assume the wet-end of the Aselsan's Fersah is manufactured by Armelsan.

  • Armelsan also aims to develop a sonar-performance analysis software which is bound to export licenses and prone to be sanctioned.

  • The sonar systems will achieve 90% and above national contribution at the serial production phase, however, the expectation for prototype phase is around 60%

Recapping some earlier developments for some news, expected to be delivered soon.

Multi-static sonar will be deployed in field within 2023 for the tests (expected timeline). Helicopter dipping sonar is initially planned to be deployed on USVs given its compact size and possibly use on ship-deployed USVs, another project for compact-towed sonar is on the way both for Corvettes / AKDG / USVs and bound for late 2023. The compact towed sonar will be coupled with fiber-optics based acoustic sensors (FOAA) and both will be able to deployed from a single USV / Platform independently or combined.

Using helicopter dipping sonar on the USVs will also ease the load on the ASW Helicopters thus they will be deployed for delivering Light Weight Torpedoes rapidly while USVs are towing a dipping sonar or resting at a fixed location, staying operational for days without any interruption.

In the end TN's ASW oriented USVs will be equipped with;
  • Submarine intercept sonar as built-in
  • FOAA + Multi-static configuration
  • Compact Towed sonar + FOAA + multi-static configuration
  • Compact Towed sonar + Multi-static configuration
  • Helicopter dipping sonar + Multi-static configuration

Ares & Meteksan ULAQ

Mine-counter measure USV, the size seems to be highly compact.

ASuW variant, pay attention. she has 25mm stabilized gun, compact 2/3D search radar (Meteksan's light radar configured for surveliance duties), 2x Medium range AShM and 2x SHORAD.

Miniature version of Nusret-1915 Mine hunting sonar is being developed for MCMW USVs, that will enabled detecting and classifying mines without risking the manned mothership.

From this perspective we can be assured the National Mine Counter-Measure Vessel will have USVs aboard.
