Yeah had it turned into a battle for Moscow the war in Ukraine probably would have ended in a couple of months. However, this attempted coup was another nail in the coffin for Russia. None of the Elites in Russia will sleep well, all will be plotting and planning fearing what could come. Had Putin fell many of his lackeys would have been rounded up. Many people who showed support for the goblin will be fearing reprisals, either they flee russia or they plan coups/attacks on the state. Fear, anxiety and paranoia will be rampant in Moscow.

All in all its better this happened for Ukraine, then it not to have happened. The entire Russian political system is compromised and the army is in dire straights.

If i were to speculate this event will have created fractures across the entire state. Going forward expect more crazy things to happen.

The beauty of the Russian failure is that no one in Russia wants to recognise it, that means their future will be continued failure. In essence they are cursed.

Because they were about to be disbanded and they wanted to negotiate a deal to get into a legal framework somehow. And they got what they wished for. Russia made a law to recruit criminals which makes up a big portion of Wagner. This will probably be at the cost of Prigozin getting crossed over at some point in time while the rest of them still being useful for Russia and for themselves. Prigozin is an old man, he had his good days.

the way his forces were allowed to get so close to moscow suggests that higher ups were allowing it. If i had to guess he was just a useful idiot used by russian deep state actors to pressure Putin and his associates. I suspect it will take a week or two before we realise what happened behind the scenes.

Remember this losing war turned into something else a long time ago, it turned into primarly about keeping Putin in power. Everyone can see its a lost war and the billionaires are losing money and fearing things can get far worse. for putin he has no choice but to maintain the war.

I suspect most sane russians understand that this is another afghanistan situation, the longer it goes on the more they fail. they need it to end as soon as possible, but Putin cannot look a loser or hes done.

Pregozin wanted a nice sum for his retirement, he lied to public about not recieving ammo, he lied to his boys about staging the coup and probably promised them lucrative positions later.
Now they will be part of regular army, get treated like shit and be cannon fodder while pregozin will enjoy his time in belarus or wherever he his gonna hide.
Just your usual russian money grab games.

It's not a rumor, I saw the video. It was closer to slitting the throat of the Wagner fighter rather than cutting his head off, but yea. And this was already after Putin declared amnesty for Wagner fighters. Russia is a failed state of rival warlords.
