Such losses made many people in the highest ranks of our Armed Forces and MoD questioning the reliability and effectiveness of Russian/Soviet Made armor stuff.

It could be closer to the situation of WW1 or the Winter War, probably Winter War if you ask me, setbacks and failure to achieve major gain, but the political status quo didn't collapse due to the failures.

The armament lost and Putin's reaction is something I take notice of much more than the military casualty. The Russians can just throw conscripts one after another, their lives don't matter for an autocrat like Putin, there are millions of them peasants and it is hardly the first time they had a situation like this. Even if the Russian population is no longer as robust, they are still Russians after all, they have always been what they are, and they will do the same thing, as usual, trying to outnumber their enemy in a war.

Russia is and was always a serf-based authoritarian country, led by authoritarian men with forced labor subjects. The Tsar was overthrown by these 'peasants', only to be replaced by Communists who were just as bad if not worse. Sure they modernized Russia, but at the cost of the lives of millions of Russian peasants. Millions of lives are nothing for the Russian ruler, his interest is above all.

Many countries were like that in the past, but the 2 big boys of the eastern bloc were the biggest perpetrators.

I think Chinese citizens are more politically opinionated and engaging than Russians nowadays, maybe it is the effect of capitalism? My personal observation about Chinese people is their openness to ideas and willingness to learn from the best (to avenge humiliation). But that's for the educated free citizens, CCP is another business.

China's weakness is the CCP politics, I predict if China wants to invade Southeast Asia after Taiwan, they will send their worst generals and politicians and reserve the best to go against US forces in Pacific-East Asia. While they're at it PLA officers will file fake reports to please CCP, and they will not be motivated to seriously wage war against SEA, probably only want to go home ASAP.

If in any possibility China invades countries in Asia, once they experience difficulty or even get defeated and withdraw, the backlash against CCP will be a major one.
