The current law on my view is already good, in a way complete ban will result of giving rise to bootleg alcohol sold on the street and crime syndicate similar to what @Madokafc said. In contrast, an outright alcohol sell will result fatal accidents increase due to DUI, I personally do not trust indonesia police or vehicle drivers in avoiding or controlling the DUI incidents, even US DUI accident case still problematic. Not to mention 80% of indonesian drivers bribe their own way for their driving license.

The only thing I agree in turning the law's status quo is increasing the cukai price every year for certain percents and milk those smokers and drunkard's wallet dry. Both smokes and alcohol kill the non user, but they kill differently, might as well extort the users dry.

Yup better to increase the tax or other direct bea for alcohol beverage and smoke to control the distribution of such goods and made them expensive enough so the average minor can't touch them.

This Alcohol Bill is perfect definition of "beating a dead horse", indonesian Alcohol consumption per capita is among the lowest in the world already, and indonesian are more into coffee or tea culture than alcohol, there is nothing wrong with the current law and trust me this bill will never pass, remember many politician and even local government got money from this alcohol bussiness. Hell even Jakarta Provincial Government have stock share in some alcohol companies.

This law is nothing more than just PKS being PKS, if you want something controversial look at PKS "perlindungan Ulama (tokoh agama) bill" that shit look like something that come from 7th century.

I really hope RUU PKS will pass, that bill is probably the most socially progressive bill ever made which is no wonder make all the islamist really mad.

It depend on whose kid . Most of my employee are starting to " nglinting dewe " this days just to save some money . And to think most of them were taking between 1000 to 1800 on weekly basis depending the job orders . Advertising and manufacturing get a very big hit these day .

The problem really started after they got emboldened when Turks were told to stay away from certain topics outside of their section and all the earlier Chinese "mods" also left and none to replace (and thus trolls ended up filling that role....with alt-accounting and all kind of other games they do)

aaach now I see the root problem. I personally don't care much about the presence of trolls, because that what ignore list is for. But when a site began condoning trolling for traffic ($) that start disturb me. More so when I've noticed the trolls were part of the management team and trolling using such privilege. Luckily most of them aren't technically bright either, so I could get a glimpse of their stats and running lightweight analytical on few of them.
BTW I've also noticed at least one of them (a former Indonesian / pelarian glodok) were running analytical just like I do on Indonesian posters

Well especialy for them i would blame their parents and close relatives . While most of my employe were a family man . We always point to the young uns heavily to start make their own income before doing something silly just for an appearence sake . You could only walk and talk so far without your own means and incomes . Well , what could i say ... Metal related industry were always a roughneck neighbourhood .... Not everybody could get bhaskoro chances and opportunity . He was a rare case and inspiring one ..

Well, I rarely post on other thread there. I have seen the "unbalance" treatmant, tho to me I really dont care much. Arguing with people who live in heavily control media, social media tells me that I would be wasting my time. When one country has concentration camp or as they say "education" camp we will know that those people live in the buble of fabricated information and surely limited knowledge of whats going on. So yeah, waste of time for me.

It wasn't the message per se (wasn't the first or last time some wumao chided Pakistanis on that message), it was the manner and method that stood out to me.

The crazed fool was literally saying 180 degree opposite before and afterwards outside of the thread and in no time everyone was gaslit to normal operating conditions same ole same ole...I was like huh WTF? I saw this happen again and again only with this particular lot.

That sheer level of extreme inconsistency (for most disgusting kind of trolling) is not tolerated with any nationality...even Pakistani (in fact lot of good pak members have been banned and perma banned on very small things)....but special exception for these.

He is just one example of many that have not only been tolerated, but deliberately cultivated and emboldened.

There is actually a systematic agenda much more than the cha-ching from troll swamp profiteering. Reasons why is just going to take too long to explain, and its really not important for non-Pakistani people in the end.

Looking back I now know exactly when I stumbled on something and honestly reported (and get targeted later for my efforts), by assuming the mods are not part of the game.

True. Anyway new better start here now...that kind of problem is something you just want to not have in first place. Big issue there now is stubbornness in admitting the problem and you were wrong etc...

I can talk at large length and detail about all kind of things/drama there but what's the real point? It is spilled milk, time to move on...given the lessons were always very obvious to anyone with a basic decency.

These issues will never originate here, fair rules and fair opportunity for all nations (each has own mod for own section etc when they arrive + active enough etc).

Yup time to move on, though this discussion is inevitable since a big recent transfer of folks just happened and ppl are wondering about context etc.

It will dwindle naturally too as people settle in and better discussion topics establish.
