Ironically enough, going into mass debt while not using that money for anything benefiting the nation was a major problem for the Ottoman Empire in the late 19th century. There's a reason it's a favorite tactic of China for pulling other countries' into their orbit and it was a favorite tactic of the US before we realized that we could just send in the Marines to kick peoples' asses if they refused to play ball.
Ottoman lacked progres, lacked investment into education etc.
And up through 70-90’s Turkey were slowly very slowly building up defence industry. While we had all the troubles of a finance lacking country. Through 00’s we were getting back on our feet, but the had feto issues. Then RTE condemned the economy again despite our defense industry growing. We don’t need all those Construction projects, housings and so on. But RTE and AKP are fond of screwing the country over, so we’re back to square one. Only plus is defense industry having grown. But without economic stability we’ll have to spend our money more wisely....

Erdogan has no strategy and political goal in Syria.

You guys need to accept that nothing positive will come out of Syria while Erdogan is in power.

Lets withdraw and strike a deal with assad. Ozaman surrender hatay while your at it when the Assad regime and its supporters constantly obess over Hatay even believe in taking it back ama we people here who have this delusion that some stupid deal is going to happen.

Such a great idea am I right.

You still have people holding onto this notion that the refugees will return. Bunch of bs they wont return as long as Assad is there. Assad and ypg are in bed together.

The solution is a safe zone under Turkish protection. This requires a huge chunk of land.

Seriously seeing Turks who are pro assad need to be treated like pkk and isis supporters which is a baton to their heads.

They support the most asaglik man on this planet. Allah onun belasini versin.

Assad the man who released jihadists onto the streets.

Also allowed Al qaeda terrorists to cross into Iraq.

If its one thing that allowed the rise of isis it was the assad regime. Assad regime had no problem in backing al qaeda in iraq aka the group that was pre isis does Abu musab al zarqawi ever ring a bell.

Assad regime also supports the pkk both father and son. Turks today have amnesia that Turkey and Syria nearly went to war in the late 90s due to Assad's support of the pkk.

When the Syrian civil war started Bashar al assad withdrew from north syria and handed it over to the pkk/ypg without even firing a bullet.

We also seen the assad regime's performance against the ypg they lost block by block of the city that they thought they were running just a couple months back recently.

Which strategy you support. For me its a safe zone under Turkish protection which requires a huge of chunk of land.

This would allow refugees to return while not living under the assad regime.

Explain your one.

You know, I'm not the biggest fan of state-driven education but I think it's probably one of the best solutions to fixing corruption and the overall mentality of the people to prevent future Abdulhamids, Mendereses and Erdogans. Children are malleable and one of the reasons why, for example, Scandinavian countries do not have such issues with horrible people constantly coming into power is because decades upon decades, if not centuries, were dedicated to teaching future generations good morals. Punishing them severely for disobedience, instilling a love for helping own people, an ability to think critically and a passion for helping the nation progress. Most important is teaching them the ability to think ahead decades and centuries.

It's not just Turkey, many countries that are not doing so well have this issue. Education, education, education. Less mullahs and more mathematicians who are also loyal nationalists. Turkey is kind of at the halfway-point. We have a similar issue in Azerbaijan.

Nationalism like religion is dying off.

Thats why in the future its going to be all liberals.

Educated people believe religion and nation states are all myths this is becoming a norm as the world globalises. Compare the richest countries to the poorest ones. Poor ones are more natiomalistic while rich ones have easily dropped it off for soft patriotism.

South Korea, Japan and China are a different story as Far Eastern Asians are different from Westerners.

Educated people dont like state driven education as they believe its brainwashing.

That’s your opinion. It is a states duty to ensure proper education and not having control over it will result in feto like schools or left wing: so that claim of yours is your own pov.

Nationalism is actually growing. It arrived as a replacement for religion as the key human tribal identifier in the 19th century, replacing religion (thanks, French Revolution) and since then it's been slowly replacing religion in that regard. Globalism is never gonna take off unless human beings are literally mind-raped to wipe all traces of what makes us human and turn us into a Borg-like hivemind.

Educated people are fine with it. I am one. What I am against is bulls**t like sex studies, race studies, mental illness studies or whatever the hell they are pushing onto the curriculum these days. Even hard sciences are being infected with it, the one area of academic discipline that should be free from all biases and interpretations because it's all solid facts and indisputable numbers.

Which is why ideologues should be kept as far the hell away from education as possible, both religious and non-religious ones.

Syrian policy from AK party is to blame.
If AKP had any balls or diplomatic sense, they'd be protesting and lobbying against this at every turn.
Again, no use whether it is the CHP or the AKP
it seems that some still believe that EU was Turkey's ally before the AKP; to which the answer is fqing NO!

Lets not forget that Greece (an EU member) is providing military training to the YPG in their own damn soil!

Lets for instance say that the AKP did lobby against it, do you really believe that the EU will care for what Turkey says? Like....looool.......Turkey has beeen protesting the YPG/PKK for decades and the EU didnt give a fq!
It seems that you forgot that the YPG main backer is the US! Do you guys think that the EU will even think about pissing the US off just to please Turkey? Nah impossible

One of the few policies i agree with the AKP on, is to just let them do these stuff (as it is inevitable) and keep killing them like flies in syria and iraq

In fact, the US, since 2019 has been urging many EU states to develop official ties with the YPG; the fact that the YPG is the one stepping up means that things are dire for them in the actual combat field
Let them do diplomacy while turkey keep plucking their roots from syria and iraq

so many opinions and accusations from someone with so little wisdom.

We all know whats going on, we all know what to expect from "allies" and enemies alike. The reality is that AK party played her cards exceptionally badly and continue too.

Syria has been a disaster, lets not play it any other way.

Ataturk had to fight a seven nation army to make sure Turkey survived as independent nation, with much less facing much bigger threats and dangers he won. AK party have faced far less with much bigger resources and been a massive failure.

Thats the reality, they have for the most part been losers.
