Not good news at all for Ethiopia. Basically witnessing the country collapsing and a civil war happening.

Dont think all the Ethnic Groups trust each other. TPLF will most likely turn against Oromos and the Somalis. If the TPLF take the capital the Amhara ethnic group wont accept Tigrayans ruling them.

I wonder if the land that Sudan allocated to Turkey (100k hectar) is meant for refugees incl. farming and such.

I dont want that I want Suakin. We need a base in the red sea.

Why do have to take care of other countries refugees?

I understand that, but after every coup or change of leadership a country may need to rebuild trust. Especially considering who we're dealing with and who consider us enemies (KSA and UAE).

US says Ethiopia ‘obstructing’ aid for Tigray

Food aid to run out this week, for the first time since the start of the conflictImage caption: Food aid to run out this week, for the first time since the start of the conflict
The head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has blamed the Ethiopian government for the shortage of humanitarian aid in the country’s northern region of Tigray.

Samantha Power says food aid in the region will run out this week for the first time since fighting broke out in November last year.

"This shortage is not because food is unavailable” she says “but because the Ethiopian government is obstructing humanitarian aid and personnel, including land convoys and air access”.

Aid trucks have been unable to leave the town of Semera in the neighbouring Afar region, currently the only accessible land route into Tigray.
The UN has separately told the BBC more than 100 aid trucks are stuck on this route.

The breakdown of a scanner at a checkpoint along halted the movement of trucks for around five days from 13 August. The UN says the scanner has been repaired but insecurity is now holding back the trucks.

The Ethiopian government has justified searches at checkpoints along the route saying it has a responsibility to “ensure and guarantee security”.

ADDIS ABABA, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Ethiopia has begun developing its own social media platform to rival Facebook (FB.O), Twitter (TWTR.N) and WhatsApp, though it does not plan to block the global services, the state communications security agency said on Monday.

Tigray rebels looting aid supplies - US agency

Tigray forces emptied the aid agency's warehousesImage caption: Tigray forces emptied the aid agency's warehouses

Forces from Ethiopia's Tigray region have looted the US government humanitarian agency's warehouses in the neighbouring Amhara state, the mission's head says.
The Tigrayans have not responded to the allegations.

The head of USAID in Ethiopia told state television that Tigrayan fighters had emptied warehouses, taking food and other items. They also stole trucks, he added.

He said they had caused "a great deal of destruction" in the villages they went to.

Last week, officials in Amhara accused Tigrayan forces of killing about 40 civilians and destroying schools, hospitals and other facilities.

The Tigray rebel forces, who have been fighting federal troops and their allies for 10 months, have taken the war beyond their homeland, advancing through the neighbouring regions of Amhara and Afar.

They have formed an alliance with a rebel group in the country's largest state of Oromia, threatening a far larger part of Ethiopia.
