Kara (299.99 km)
i wonder what happend with the ship at 10 meter away from max distance.

U216 is oceanic sub right? Then NG must prepare more than scorpene
If you look closerly to Australia Submarine tender program, all of Subs offered by contender country has specififation to fufill Blue Water navy req.
It has to be SMX or Original Baracuda then.
It not necessarily SSN, SSK with li-ion battery and more capable combat suite i likely more suited to protect Nusantara waters.

If we going to face the dragon of the north, better to spam any mid-end warship now.

SMX is diesel-electriced Baracuda, I bet with Li-On and AIP too.

why on earth are you guys being this sensitive about nuclear reactor, it's kinda weird speaking something with code, we're not even law makers nor someone who is in charge about that classified information, can we use traditional language as usual..
.
.
also, i don't think we're going after nuclear powerplant afterall, it will be thorium based powerplant
This forum knows some words that if you dare to say it many people will get offended and fight you. Two of them are "F-35" and "Nuclear".
Wait, what? So that 'N' was for Nuclear? So we weren't talking about the other kind of N-word? 🤪

Kidding aside, although I'm very well aware of the benefits of nuclear powerplant, I still have my reservation about building a large one here. It's not about the usual pros and cons that people always debated when talking about it but more like that it will be a huge project which will involve a large amount of money.

And when it comes to money, yeah, you know what I'm thinking. Even the funds for the covid-19 mitigation are not safe from those bastards.

Back to topic: With that said, I don't think that we have enough highly qualified human resources to handle nuclear subs yet. Not in the next few decades, at least. So if the 'battle' for our next subs is going to be a fight between Scorpene vs U216 vs Suryo-chan, I'd say:

Actually i am a fan of their kss iii, just continue the 2nd batch and for the 3rd batch step up the game with buying dsme 3000 or their kssiii. And both the latest korean ashm and hyunmo slbm has similiarity with russia missile .

If we seriously aiming for Nuclear powered submarine in the future, French is the best choice actually just like Brazil.

Iku nek ancen nial lho yooo....
Well, maybe if we could guarantee our stance to be baguette partner in Indo Pacific.

um... how do I say this, well, a lot of people here already mentioning about "we are going to get (FREMM/Arrowhead/Mogami) ship by 202*" or something like that.

my questions are, do we already sign any contract for any of those ships? coz if we did, I really missed the news.
And does anyone had the link to the news? Or it's just in our dream?

A report indicating Ministry of Treasury has approfe a significant number around US$ 600 million to get some Interim subs back then.

Hi chance to be a "pop off" news as Arrow Head 140 deal.
$600 million for 1 submarine iirc. I don't even know what kind of 2nd hand submarine with that price.

AH already make some video about it months ago. The MinDef want to use that $600 million for Submarine Rescue vessel instead iirc.

Well i dont know to be precise, but i think that our side won't published the news in this pandemic time, it could be "rame" / "gorengan"
Such contract should be available/open to the public even in this "pandemic time" considering the budget involved.
And the govt should be ready for any incoming critics; despite a lot of people deny it, we do had war brewing at SCS that directly affect our ZEE.
