Let's combine this with F16 request, put an order for 2 P8 Poseidon and 2 New E-7A Wedgetail for long range operations.. Uncle Sam cannot resist to a big order, money comes first for Johnny. And some more Ch-47s needed. Why don't Turkey make a big order list, like Poseidons, F16s, Ch-47s, 136 F35, E7s, MK-41s, SM3s,THAAD.. US is upset because Turkey produces her products and don't buy like Arabs, and buys from Russia, I don't think they can resist to a multi billion dollar shopping list. You would get your lobby instantly, Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon combined. There are still things that Turkey can't produce or loses time due to long R&D process.
Give up national production?
That will not make any gains as the US has no interest in helping Turkey grow its power anyway.
We can use the money to beef up our production and diversify our systems.

It was not the Russians who tried to start a civil war in our country on 15 July. That's why you can't compare the USA with the Russians in harming Turkey.

I do not understand. Why do those who raise the floor because the Russians killed 30-40 of our soldiers do not say a word to the USA, which is working to start a civil war in our country.
Don't tell me the strategic depth bullshit. Do you think this country has no right to react to the USA? Should the relationship between us be a slave master relationship?
No one is saying we shouldn't, and please don't forget who couldn't even give a diplomatic note when they put bags on our soldiers head!

So bringing in a new aircraft will be a smooth transition? There needs to be an army of maintainers, pilots and sensor operators to be trained and disciplined in the use of a any new gear. Best would be to rely on Seahawks, till national solution is adapted. Seeing as Navy is getting behind ATAK-II, which is going to share common drivetrain and powerplant with 10-ton general purpose helicopter - it's a no brainer - to me atleast..
We've operated Cobra's before so we do have ressource for maintenance and such. Is it because they're not navalized that we'll have issues ?

I don't recall that we have any seahawks tbh, but correct me if I'm wrong. And if we have it's likely to be personelle carrier type and not the armed version.

That may be the case, but which government opposed Americans from entering Iraq from the North which triggered Americans to put bags over soldiers heads. We can bounce off from all sides of the argument. But clear as it is, US and Russia do not want Turkey to grow into a regional power. At the same time, we need to appease both. For Nuclear Plant in the Black Sea and for Parts for American weapon systems that are still actively used. The balance is key. Having a outlook of Bear Bad Eagle Good, or Eagle Bad Bear Good - is gay.

Exactly Balance is the key ret. adm. Cem Gürdeniz keeps reminding us of these things. And everyone has probably noticed only MoD seems to bother making statements on these things.

Yes, army maintenance has in-depth knowledge of AH-1W- the engines being closely related to Black/Sea-Hawks is also a plus. We've discussed in previous pages on how it would be good idea to transition AH-1W from army use to Naval use till we can get our own solutions up and running. It's good to see that will be the case so our LHD aren't toothless right off the bat and I'm sure we could operate non-navalised T-129 for short periods and with increased washdowns if necessary (Like the Italians do).

Yes, we have around 20 Seahawks integrated with L-UMTAS, and potentially Medium Range Anti-Ship missile in the future.

Ibrahim Sunnetci also told the Atak deal between Navy and TAI was done for navalized variant. Not sure if a readily available system can be navalized for few units?

I'm wondering whether an engine swap might be necessary. I haven't been able to find any resources on it yet. Brits operate Super-Lynx which is a fully navalised platform, powered by two CTS-800-4N engines. T-129 uses same family of engines however the designation is slightly different - CTS-800-4A.
Not sure if that's a big deal or not.

N may stand for navalised engine?

It may not be just the engine i guess, it might be needed to treat whole body of the chopper against corrosion, bolts and all that will cost some plus it may need something to be evaluated again. I am not sure how would material properties differ among them.

Also RR is telling the 4N version is the one certified for civil use. (Commercially-certified CTS800-4n variant featuring a speed-reduction gearbox) @Yasar

The only clear difference I can find on it is that N version has a speed-reduction gearbox which is developed by SAFRAN a French company.

"At the heart of the engine, the CTS800 reduction gearbox lowers the rotation speed of the fan or rotor relative to the gas generator while transmitting all of the engine’s mechanical power."

So, doesn't A version have a speed-reduction gearbox ? Puzzled.

Am i telling anything to buy those from US? Isn't there any other options?
Russians should be the last option in anything. Not coming second right after US.
Agreed tbh! Russia should always be the last option but I want to clarofy that If you cant buy from the US, you wont be able to buy from other Western countries
If the US wont sell weapons to Turkey due to political differences, the US will apply political pressure directly or indirectly to prevent western states from selling you weapons

Should I assume that Zafer, Bogeyman etc. are very thrilled with RTE signing the refugee deal with EU just because they don't criticize the decision ? Is that how I should interpretate your silence ?
Honestly, The refugee deal with Europe would have been amazing of the EU fulfilled its end of the deal. Turkey, by then, would have been swimming in a sea of billions of dollars of investments
What I wanna know is that when the EU didnt fulfill their pledge why didnt Erdo just scrap the deal and throw it in the rubbish bin. This is true question to be asked
However, just as a deal, Turkey would have gained a lot from the refugee deal
