I believe its close cooperation not an alliance. UK will always be allied with the Anglosphere.

BMC will go all out with engine development. Jet fighter engine followed by turbine aircraft carrier engine. Go tiger!
BMC should first deliver the promised tanks before even dreaming about jet engines...

Then those engines should be delivered to BMC for altay to be delivered.
I am tired of people bashing a company BMC for things out of their control, no matter who got the Altay deal they wouldn't be able to deliver it because germany is refusing to export the engine/transmission.

I have no doubt they will. BMC is the major partner of TR Motor, I have no doubt they will deliver either. I have no doubt they will go beyond that. You don't have faith in Turkey's ability to achieve? Wait and see.

Engine could be found if needed Germany isnt the only producer of engines. So what do you expect then for BMC to wait another 10 maybe 15 years until a engine is developed let alone produced in adequate numbers?
You know what i am tired of? People who defend this obvious corruption for their political idology, fact remains that we dont have modern tank to deploy in battlefield because of the mismanagements of the polical elite while our soldiers get sent to Syria with 60+ year old tanks and no speech of ''NATO's second biggest army hurr durr'' is gonna change those facts.

Dude you are so aggressive and write stupid things, do you think people aren't looking for other engines?
Do you think the people in the government and the BMC are that stupid.

Whats agressive about what i wrote?
And to answer your question, yes i do think that, we had enough exsamples shown to us in all those years. It would actually be even worse if they were not that stupid because that would make them sinister.

I certainly hope so. Out of Western Europe UK has been more pliant toward Turkey. Leaving EU means UK seizing the huge emerging opportunities across the globe with Turkey being a low hanging fruit to be got first.

Bro, you dont know the hole story of Erdogan buddy Ehtem Sancak, owner of BMC. They got every kind of different project, without any knowledge, experience capacity or capability, just because of nepotism.

Knowledge, capacity and capability can be built but you can't work with someone who does not intend to give you power but only want to take your money. Ekrem Sancak is striving to establish an industrial base to foster Turkey's military machine. There is no match for this kind of commitment.

How Turkey Outclassed The UK With Their Own Technology To Develop One Of World’s Most Lethal Drones?

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry plans to purchase six to 12 Bayraktar TB2 complexes, each with six to 12 control stations, and three to four UAVs, according to latest reports.

While the United States currently sits at the top of the throne in terms of developing the world’s finest armed drones, Turkey has steadily climbed the ladder as it continues to produce lethal, battle-tested combat drones.

Under the helm of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ankara has seemingly become the newest drone superpower, shaking the military balance of power in the Caucasus, the Middle East and North Africa.

However, one of the key contributors of the country’s road to success has been a Britain-based manufacturer who has provided vital assistance in the manufacture of the armed Bayraktar TB2 drones.

Mourad TEYEB (مــراد التـائـب) on Twitter: #Turkey has won a contract to supply six TAI Anka-S #drones, three ground control stations and an unspecified level of technology transfer to #Tunisia. Sources said

Located on the outskirts of Brighton in the UK, EDO MBM Technology devised and supplied a crucial missile component called the Hornet missile rack during the development stages of the killer drones. It enabled Turkey to overcome the obstacle set forward by the US’ export ban on the killer drones.

Currently, Turkey stands as a frontrunner in the market for advanced drone technology with the country’s security force running a fleet of 86 armed TB2s in a battleground which had earlier been dominated by the US and Israel.

As per a report filed in 2016’s Jane’s Defence Review, before Ankara went on to develop its own missile, the Bayraktar TB2’s manufacturer Baykar was supplied with the Hornet missile rack during the crucial development stages of the program.

However, Baykar has denied reports of importing any technology from the UK manufacturer with Baykar’s chief technical officer, Selçuk Bayraktar, stating on Twitter, that the Turkish drone giants did not purchase any component with the firm deciding on to design its own “much more advanced model at an affordable cost”.

The Bayraktar TB2s are medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) which are capable of being remotely controlled or for carrying out autonomous flight operations.

The drones which are primarily used by the Turkish Air Force (TAF) are monitored and controlled by aircrew in the Ground Control Station, including weapons employment.

The TB2s first took flight in 2014, with their development being fuelled by the US ban on exports of armed unmanned aircraft to Turkey, due to Washington’s fears of the drone technology being used against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) groups inside and outside the country.

Till date, Turkey has used the killer drones in three of its operations against Kurdish-led forces in Syria. According to Turkish Defence Ministry, the drones were also used to target and kill “five PKK terrorists” across the border in Iraq in a similar style carried out by the US in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

According to experts, the drones have been developed especially with the goal of being deployed against Kurdish PKK separatists who have been engaged in a long-running violent insurgency in the south-east of the country.

At the moment, the Turkish military operates over 130 armed drones of several types which include five versions of the Anka plus the Karayel and the Bayraktar TB2.

According to Director of Drone Wars UK, Chris Cole – “What we are seeing is countries like Turkey becoming a major player in drone usage, which is, like the US, prepared to engage in targeted killing outside its own borders.”

Do you really believe that He does all that just because of his pure patriotic heart and not because a looooot of state money will be made and put in the right pockets even if not 10 tanks get delivered in the end?
Come on bro, if you tell me that this whole Altay fiasco doesn’t reek of corruption and mismanagement you are probably lying to yourself. 😁

If a state give a contract to a company to build 4.Generation tank, it doesnt hope that the company will reach all the necessary capability anytime to build the tank. It must HAVE all the capability right NOW. Not anytime soon. BMC employee reached nothing by hard work. Just buying some ToT from Hatehov or elsewhere.

You can't wait a couple more years to see the result of the efforts made now although you have waited a lifetime to see the nothing offered by the predecessors.

This is so naive, where the hell have you found everything ready that you want it now? The tank project started without an indigenous engine requirement and evolved into one that is fully indigenous. It is because Erdoğan insisted on a fully indigenous tank. It is both about building a tank arsenal and about building a tank making industrial base. Who cares if it is acquired through the work of certain engineers and not certain others? BMC have brought together the engineers that can make it happen, period.

Make a project, evolve it with requirements into something that none can fulfill, give the Tank and the Engine project to your friend who has zero expertize in either of them, only a genious/corrupt goverment could come up with such a plan...

Fact is: there is no tank after 4 years of schedule for mass production, nor is there a engine prototype, hell not even the factory exists, all Ethem Sancak has done so far was to get BMC for a bargain from TMSF.
And you guys come here and tell us to ''believe'' and ''have faith'', well i guess thats why so many things go the wrong way in Turkey because you guys only believe instead of looking at facts and calling wrong things out.
We should have gotten our 1000th tank delivered at the end of this year but you guys prefer to believe in some miracles...

Now thats a agressive post because it p*sses me off how you guys defend people who only fill their pockets at the expense of our soldiers and people just because of partizan point of view...

Making a modern tank with full accessories totally with national capabilities is not a feat that can be achieved overnight/4 years. We are going to full extent and acquiring the entire capability. Something even the imagination of the past generation can not comprehend... Which is also imminent... Why not wait some more and see the results instead of slandering the people who is doing the incomprehensible hard work and realizing the unimaginable miracle. What ails you?

TFX prototype engines will be f110GE129E. These are the “twin engine optimised“ f15 engines. They develop ~29500lbf thrust. The engine that is going to go on the TFX , hence need to be similar in size to f110 family.
The engine drawing that TRMotor has shown in it’s site is more like the f110GE132. Especially the blisk structure and the high bypass configuration of the engine has similarities with the 32500lbf thrust developing , GE132 engine.
So unless RR comes up with an engine that is of the same ilk, there is no chance for RR to be included in the TFX engine program. I would still look favourably to a Kale/RR cooperation engine in 29000+ lbf thrust area with TVC like the ej200 tvc they have.
At the moment TEI is the only company in Turkey that has the necessary credentials to produce a jet engine that can furnish TFX. But producing a radial flow turboshaft engine is not enough reason to expect from TEI , a turbofan engine like F110 , in short term. If they had GE cooperation , may be! Even though they have been able to produce all the critical single crystal parts that operate at high temperatures for both t700 and the ts1400 engines, producing the more complex and larger parts of the turbofan engine is a different ball game.
Quickest and most logical route would be to allow RR to produce the engine with Kale and sell it to TAI with all third party sales restrictions waived. It is naive to think that any company will relinquish their IP right over to a third party when it is jet engine technology in question.

Spot on for the most part. But I would bet on the national industry to come up with production solutions to hard to make parts than rely on foreign parties.
